Re: LDU Overcurrent and broken inverter

The inverter proves blown with the diode test mode and you get a red light on one of the gate drivers?

Parameters look like the bin file I usually flash, including the hidden flags.

With a good CAN connection the wifi module should be very stable by now, not sure what happened there

Interesting, I could change the sequencing so it doesn't scan 0,1,..15 but 0,2,4....15,13,11,...1 . So less potential jumps

I use a standard 5-pole 2.5mm² cable, so no shielding at all. Works flawlessly for entire days

I added a simple bar graph to the web interface. https://github.com/jsphuebner/esp32-web-interface/commit/8eb49f65ac552e3d1f1ef8a0d3e25af67db59e21

Can be found under "Plot & Gauge" by pressing "Toggle BMS bargraph". Thanks to Patron Phil for the symbol 👍

Wait, you're successfully running a Gen3 OI board? I.e. in Leaf Gen3 inverter.

Apart from that, if you use the new "green" web interface you can map idcmax (accel) and idcmin (regen) just like any other item.

Re: Is discharge required?

Tesla LDU even has active discharge as in without 12 V supply it discharges. With 12 V supply the discharge circuit can be disabled.

Most other inverters have said 100k permanently

Sounds good! (except for the PLC)

BTW I connected the modem via an Ethernet switch. The same interface can be used for regular traffic and Homeplug at the same time

Great analysis, Looks to be working. What happened to 1.09 though? Looks like it was discharged too much? Also 2.00 is flickering. Is the connection good?

Maybe you could colour - code the balancing states. Also C+ and C- are the same really. Just odd cells are C+ and even ones C-

Re: Regeneration efficiency leaf gen2

Are you running with the stock logic board? It receives a BMS charge power limit over CAN, see here: https://github.com/jsphuebner/stm32-car/blob/master/src/leafbms.cpp#L113

Don't know if there are other limits. Maybe the drop-in OI board is for you? https://openinverter.org/shop/index.php?route ...

I don't know of any difference between negative and positive torque. So if you found it to be 94% efficient driving in that operating point it will also be 94% efficient regenning

Re: LDU temp reading problem (not logic)

One unusual thing I noticed in the parameters is the high minimum slip (fslipmin). The default is 0.9 Hz or so, try dialing it back and check for changes.

It's certainly not a known issue. The LDU has two stator temperatures and the maximum of the two is displayed.

The most common temperature ...

Re: Tesla SDU/LDU wifi connectivity

The design intent of V7 was to replace the esp8266 plug-in module with the soldered esp32 module. Turns out either way the connectivity is poor. So the boards I sell now do not have any wifi module onboard but you can choose to buy a CAN connected wifi module that can live pretty much anywhere in ...

Re: [WIP] Caterham Seven - Putting the EV in sEVen

I don't think you need to worry about the intricacies of the CCS protocol. It is just a super stupidly convoluted way of controlling basically a very big lab power supply. You tell it how much current you want and at which voltage it should throttle. Two data items. And an extra one with the battery ...

Re: [WIP] Caterham Seven - Putting the EV in sEVen

Is the DC2DC set to a fixed translation ratio or fixed output voltage? If it's a ratio it should be pretty simple. Just divide the current the BMS allows by that ratio. CCS precharge voltage is the DC2DC converters output voltage.

Or another way to look at it: CCS charging is no different to regen ...

I think I will change the "nothing plugged in" action to edge triggered so it fires only once when someone without lock just unplugs.
Right now it also inhbits the stateC test I guess

Re: AC charging with Foccci and Zombie, not starting

The last time I tested the ActuatorTest wasn't disturbed as long as no cable is plugged in. So testing "Lock" locks it and only testing "Unlock" unlocks it. As soon as you plug in a cable the application logic takes over. Can you check that?

EDIT: nevermind, genius here added some new logic to ...

Well thumbs up first for the project in general :)

But same question - why do you choose an 800V motor with 200V batteries? Why not match them? The converter just adds losses, weight and a potential failure point
