Re: [DRIVING] Project Rising Sun: Suzuki SJ410k meets Leaf full stack
Great watch :) imagine having to do this with a clutch!
Do you have some metrics for us? Like how much energy did you use that day vs. a fossil burner? How was the car perceived?
Not sure if creep mode from the inverter made it into Zombie... Hill hold will just work with replacement board as it ...

The real first drive 8-)

Don't really have the words to describe how it feels, other than brutally and awesome!

Zombieverter developemental SW version testing on full Leaf setup
Maybe this is worth a separate topic and to minimize confusion what comes to official releases :)
Ok, so I have noticed this behavior with several developemental versions (can't say if this is true to released versions as current ones have their issues for which I can't drive them.)

Zombieverter PWM settup for dummies
Ok, so I'm looking at testing pump speed control with Tim3 and got confused and lonely trying to understand how these parameters actually work.

I'll try to chime in sometime soon.
Getting my Suzuki MOT'd was quite a crunch for the past few weeks until the D-day, so been trying to recover and return to "normal" mode of operation :)

[DRIVING] Project Rising Sun: Suzuki SJ410k meets Leaf full stack
Today I went and had this bucket MOT'd
IMG20250509143303.jpg
So with this, I declare this DRIVING.
This concludes phase I of my project 8-)
Next I'll take some time driving around on and off road, getting a better understanding on the range I'm going to have and fix some minor things.

Well I've been working on my brown list until all got struck over :)
The hood scoop is now really made from a snow scoop I picked up from for free. It was probably run over with a car or something and didn't work for snow scooping. For hood scooping there was enough material to work with :D ...

Ooh, this is super cool!
The possibilities are endless
I've been toying with ideas how to create and manage drive modes which would be useful on road and off road.
This could be the ticket for that.
One I get phase I of my project done, maybe I'll also look into this too

Nobody will know that this is electric when I'll pull a tarp over the bed and cover that battery :P
Also, remembered that I had one of these collecting dust. Its a plastic fender for trucks and truck trailers. For smaller wheeled vehicles easily makes two out of one :)

Had found a suitable cable feed through for HV battery cable from the boat section of local auto parts shop
kaapelilapivienti-38-9017.jpg
As I have route it through the cockpit. Also had some interface plates cut, so I have something more rigid to mount the feed through to

Re: Outlander Rear <-> Zombie wiring requirements
INVudc is only real until you send a torque command and then it becomes another feedback value and should be ignored.
CANbus wiring issues are annoying to trace out, always good to do the power everything off and check the bus resistance check.
Just to reiterate, in case it is not clear for ...

Re: [WIP] Leaf to VW Type 2 Campervan
Thanks!
I’ve been looking at the MES / DEA 70/6E2. I like it because it seems to be completely self contained, it includes sensor and switch. I guess maybe that’s bad from the pov of view of points of failure possibly taking out the entire unit. But I like a plug and play device that is designed ...

You are thinking my way :D I also did the minimum on the vacuum system just to minimize the time there and prioritizing other areas first. I took the Volvo vacuum switch and vag vacuum pump route.

Houston, wehave TORQUE
I did this test just by holding against the brake and vehicle not really moving. Now we have symmetrical torque

Yeah, sorry about the radio silence. It'll be until Sunday before I have the chance to get back to testing this.
Thanks Tom for providing a fix to test. I'll also report once I get on to testing this.

Re: VAG heater on Zombie
There is a bug in the 2.20 release, so the LIN doesn't work properly. Also you may need physical modification on your Zombie board, depending on the board you have.

Well, I think I found out, why the inverter gives only -17.5Nm out...
Because Zombieverter tells the inverter to give only that :D
