Nissan Leaf and Zombieverter minimum components need?

Post by Taichi »

Hello all. I try to make fast and silent vehicle. For information - i'm from Ukraine and this vehicle not for fun :?
I have Full Stack Nissan Leaf EM57 (PDM, Inverter, Motor, 2 charge ports, and native differential) and Nissan Leaf HV Battery (without Cells but with native BMS).
I wanna to repack battery with used CATL 151ah elements.
As VCU i will try Zombieverter. I already bought PCB and now fill with all components.
I have some questions:
1) What minimum radio-components on PCB needs to start set what i have?
2) Can i use standard charger port? (Fast Chademo no need)
3) Can Zombieverter operate the gear selector on native differential? (Maybe no need this function. And maybe differential will be blocked)
4) Can you help me to wire all correctly?

2) You can use the Leaf charge port for AC charging.

3) The differential is a fixed single speed with a Park actuator. The ZV can't operate the park actuator but it can be removed and unlocked manually.

4) Look on my Project post, I added a wiring diagram.

Hello.
I have a few questions about the printed circuit board.
I mounted the components that I was able to buy in my city. Some components have already been ordered from China.
I created this post in order to understand which components I can not place on the printed circuit board.
What is circled in a green square is responsible for CAN 1 (43 and 44 pins)
What is circled in a blue square is responsible for CAN 2 (27 and 28 pins)
What is circled in yellow is responsible for turning on the contactors and relays (31, 32, 33 and 34 pins)
What is circled in light blue is RS 232 for connecting an external interface. Jumpers SJ 4 and SJ 3 (circled in a red square) allow you to switch to Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi is connected by default.
To start the Nissan LEAF, do I need a set of IC10, IC19 and IC20 chips (CAN BUS 3 HS \ SW \ FT )?
The printed circuit board still lacks SN65HVD230QDR chips.
Is it possible to use ESP8266 ESP-01 for wifi and what firmware is needed for this wifi module?

You need one CAN bus so one chip for CAN1 or 2

Tom, thanks for the answer.
Please tell me if it is necessary to download this https://github.com/jsphuebner/stm32-CANBootloader bootloader before downloading the hex file?

Maybe you have canbootloader hex file? I don't know how to compile this. https://github.com/jsphuebner/stm32-CANBootloader there no hex files, only source code =(

Good afternoon. Please help me set the parameters correctly. I soldered both CAN bus chips. So far I am using only pins 27 and 28 for the CAN bus. If I go to the "SPOT VALUES" menu, I can see how the din_start, din_brake, din_forward and other parameters change. But how do I understand that there is a connection between the PDM and the inverter and Zomvieverter? How can I see if they are exchanging data with each other?
Please give me a link with detailed instructions. I have the latest version 2.22a flashed. Thx

Hello. I'm stuck at the stage of connecting the zombieverter to the inverter and the Nissan Leaf PDM.
If I turn on the ignition switch 15 pin, then should ground appear on pin 32 and the main relay then supply power to the "brains" of the inverter and PDM? But it doesn't work. Relay not "click"
Are there any other conditions that must be met for the zombieverter to communicate via the CAN bus to the inverter\PDM?

If you connect an oscilloscope to CAN H and CAN L (pins 27 and 28), you will see attempts to connect. I want to try to understand without connecting the high-voltage line whether the brains are communicating with each other. Maybe there is some instruction to understand what the status graph means UdcBelowUdcSw|PotPressed ?
There is a lot of information on the forum and wiki, but it is very scattered across branches. There is no complete instruction. Therefore, I am forced to ask for help even in such simple things. Thank you.

I made the connections according to this picture. And from the square connector to the round one I made a little tip for myself.

Post your params.

You need to get into run more for it to try and turn on the relay.

So you need to set up your throttle and UDCmin and UDCsw

So for start without High-Voltage i need to set UDCmin and UDCsw to 0?
I ordered throttle pedal from audi a6 with 5v hall sensors. After few days ill try one more time. Thank you

Good afternoon. Please help me figure out the accelerator sensor. I bought a sensor from a BMW e39. It looks like the one in the photo. But when I connect it, I get two different signals. One of them is analog and responds to smooth pedal pressing. The second one responds immediately and becomes maximum until you release the pedal. Is this the correct operation of the pedal or am I doing something wrong? Thank you

Yes, this is an older version. A newer version is dual position sensor.

Tom, is this a list of pedals that you should NOT buy???
Because I bought 0 205 001 040 and it has one sensor and potentiometer. For some reason I am completely confused on this forum.   Why not create a list of what you should buy and not the other way around?? Can this pedal also fit and be connected to the zombieverter?

Yes you can, you just need to select single throttle signal option.

This is an opensource community all members contribute things in their way, sometimes its not as clearly worded as one would like it to be.

Tom, do you know what the minimum voltage is for the motor to spin? Is it best to use 220 volts AC and a diode bridge?

I'm not taking offense at the forum or blaming anyone. I understand that the forum is created by enthusiasts. But it was so funny when I got the pedal, connected it to an oscilloscope and saw the same graph as mine. Just so you understand, I already have 4 pedals before this one :)

Hello. Please tell me how to understand that the inverter receives commands from the VCU? Today I connected everything. I configured UdcMin and UdcSw to 0. I configured the gas pedal.
Now t15stat -> on,
din_forward -> on,
din_start -> on.
The main relay clicks.
The status shows 'RUN'. HV is connected to 310 volts through a diode bridge and a light bulb. The system responds to the pedal and even the torque indicator changes, but the engine still does not spin. Please tell me what to do next?

Post params. Post spot values.

Do you have a way of capturing CAN traffic?

Tom, sorry for taking so long. I bought a CAN traffic analyzer. I also saved the data from the zombie inverter. I also took screenshots from the web interface. I want to say that data transfer via the CAN bus started only after enabling din_forward din_start and t15stat. If I change the InverterCan parameter to CAN2 in the zombie inverter settings, the data is not transferred. Help me understand what I did wrong.

wire your inverter to CAN 1.

Set you inverter CAN to CAN1.

Wire the inverter as per information on the wiki.

1.Does the Zombie verter go into run mode?
2.Does the 12V relay cntrolled by the zombie click on?
3.There is no inverter CAN messages so you wired the inverter wrong on the CAN, check wiring.

1) Yes - Run mode
2) Yes - relay click on (after relay click starting CAN traffic)
3) There no leaf inverter messages or no zombieverter messages? Ok, tomorrow I'll check CAN wiring.
Thanks for answers.
