I've picked up one of these AC compressors and will see if I can get it running with these logs, might be a while before I get round to it though.
Part number I have is 5B31E59 but it seems there have been many iterations that should be interchangeable: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/partxref?q ...

Nice build. I'm in the process of converting my E91 also with a leaf motor. I'm curious where you manage to fit all that battery, currently I plan on putting the bulk of mine in the engine bay but it looks like you've avoided that.

Re: UK eVED tax, 3p per mile
I suspect you are both right; the DVLA will continue to refuse to recognise it as an EV for regular VED but suddenly will when it comes to eVED, which is infuriating.

UK eVED tax, 3p per mile
The UK government announced the budget last week including a new 3p per mile tax to be applied to EVs starting in 2028:

Re: [WIP] BMW E91 + Leaf Motor
Battery pack disassembly is complete, unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to reuse many of the cooling plates as the modules aren't grouped in the way I first thought.
Also I bought the car!

Does anyone have any advice for taking this pack apart? I've got all the bolts out but the glue just will not let go no matter how much I go at it with a heat gun and a crowbar

Re: [WIP] BMW E91 + Leaf Motor
I collected my battery pack over the weekend, and it went remarkably un-sketchy haha.
This is a 50kWh 108S pack found in a variety of Stellantis vehicles, mine is from a 2022 Vauxhall Corsa-e.

Re: EM57 more power
I've been reading through old threads on the Volt/Ampera inverter . Lots of work was done on a few different openinverter logic board designs that allowed running both 600A power stages in parallel. Definitely a lot cleaner than 2 leaf inverters rigged together haha. Unfortunately information on ...

EM57 more power
I'm planning my build around the EM57 motor initially with an 80kW inverter I got for very cheap but planning to upgrade pretty much as soon as the car is running, as such I've been reviewing the inverter options available:

Re: Switched ADC BMS
Potentially, most of the modules are quite specific to BMS applications though so I think leaving them part of the firmware is fine.
I just envisage a common open source firmware for a variety of BMS boards. In much the same way open inverter supports a variety of inverters.

Re: Switched ADC BMS
I'm thinking of reusing a lot of this code for my MAX17823 BMS, for those unaware this would be a master BMS that talks to the built in satellite BMS in OEM modules from Kia, Peugeot, Citroen, Opel and potentially others. In fact I'm wondering what people's opinions are on adding support for ...

Looking at the V627/3 form it seems that most structural modification only have to tick a box but EV conversions have to "provide full details of any modifications".

Re: GS450H motor performance data gathering
Thanks for the link, that was the only real world evidence I'd been able to find. 170kW ish is great but it's a fair bit short of the rated 250kW the wiki states, hence me making this thread to see if we can back that number up.

GS450H motor performance data gathering
I've been reading through the wiki and forum trying to collect info on the GS450H motor but I feel there is a lack of real world data despite plenty of builds so I thought I'd create a thread to try and consolidate it all.

I've run quotes on a few potential cars, albeit in unmodified form, and the E91 was very reasonable. I'll give adrian flux a call to see if they can quote me with the conversion. Thanks for the heads up

I love my E91, but be aware of high insurance costs. There's only Adrian flux that I could find to insure.and it's over a grand. No points, no accidents, 20 years no claims.
