Re: [WIP] 1965 Ford Mustang

I've been following your project for a long time. Unlike most people here, I don't think you should choose a car because it's in good condition and easy to convert. Converting a car is usually not cheap and rarely pays off from a commercial point of view. That's why it makes particular sense to ...

battery repair

I stumbled across a video about the EV Clinic. It describes the M3 battery as the easiest battery to repair. They replace the single defective round cell. Other repairable cell types are also discussed. Has anyone here tried something similar?

Re: Question about 12 Volt "starter" Battery (Please move if incorrect)

I have now implemented it as described and it works well. After closing the main contactors, I take the voltage from the Hella battery terminal and start the DCDC converter with this voltage. I then increase the voltage until 14A is reached at the pole terminal. As the battery charge increases, the ...

Re: Custom made cluster disc

Making dials is no problem. In the picture it looks as if it is translucent, i.e. the lighting comes from behind. For this, an acrylic glass would first have to be laser-cut. There are online suppliers for this on the Internet. Then print directly, e.g. https://hd-xxlprint.de/. The laser cutter ...

Re: Fooling the original ECM that the engine is running

Another approach is to find out what the diesel engine sensors are doing. From a crankshaft or camshaft sensor you can expect a clock pulse, perhaps with two missing teeth, the temperature sensor is probably analog and can also be simulated. It should be possible to check whether everything is as ...

Re: e-Golf battery upgrade: How does an EV know the size of battery it has installed?

I would like to revive this tread. I have found a supplier on the internet who sells an upgrade kit for the e-golf to 180Ah. This gives 58kWh and should be enough for 320km in real life. The price is quoted at 5800$. I don't know if this is serious. They seem to have concentrated on the I3 so far ...

Re: DC Power Supply for Bench Testing Tesla SDU

I recommend connecting 4 car batteries in series. Charge them individually, in parallel or in series beforehand. This way you have no problem with the current and can also test the recuperation. Running a charger in parallel during the test was not a good idea for me, as it was destroyed during ...

my googling has led me to this link.https://tr.aliexpress.com/item/1005008459058700.html. The MC33771ata is sold there, the photo shows a MC35771ata. Further googling shows that it is a BMS chip from NXP. The datasheet at mouser https://www.mouser.de/datasheet/2/302/MC33771B_SDS-1517286.pdf. I think ...

Re: New Tesla LDU fault - inconsistent failure to start

for my understanding, what triggers an “overcurrent” message. Of the 7 inputs on IC10, 6 come from the error lines of the gate driver. One comes from IC8, and is also transmitted to the CPU. The output of IC10 suppresses the PWM. Is this suppression also output as an “overcurrent” message? If not ...

Re: QCA7000 Foccci+Clara User thread

I have now made tests with the version 0.44.100.B. The offset parameter works well. The UdcDevider is too coarse. After setting the offset to 561, I applied 318V, resulting in AdcInletVoltage of 1425. With UdcDevider = 3 I get 288V and 432V with UdcDevider = 2. My suggestion is dig/100V ...

Re: QCA7000 Foccci+Clara User thread

This is how I imagine charging with the OBC: The cable is plugged in. Foccci and my charging controller wake up. Foccci reports cable plugged in, my controller sends lock and waits for a valid PWM. When PMW starts further controllers for cooling etc. and the high voltage is switched on with Pre ...
