Re: Leaf Gen1 Cells state of health- your opinion?
I have an Orion BMS 2. That could explain the differences between modules. I'd recommend parking your car outside until you understand what's happening. I'd also suggest you read this post and ask yourself why we spend so much time encouraging people to use the OEM BMS; https://www.patreon.com/post...

Re: Leaf Gen1 Cells state of health- your opinion?
What do you think? Is this the capacity to expect from the Leaf cells or should it be better? What's the history of the battery? Has it been bottom balanced? Are you using the Nissan BMS or a third party system? 3.2V is very low and a 200mV difference between cells is huge. This is a useful guide; ...

Re: The Blue Yacht : E39 + Lexus MGR
do you think is it possible to put two of those motors to left and right rear axle? Sure :) Would they fit side by side for example to 300 series rear axle? You'll need to confirm that and look at the impact on the body shell. The good news is they are very cheap so it's easy to buy one and try it ...

Re: GS450H Discussion
Yes I saw that on the wiki but I don't think a GS350h actually exists.. so it might be a typo. No idea... And I have searched everywhere but all I can see is a mention of Damien saying he will try one, one day. So was just hopeful that there was something I had missed. BEXUS is using the GS450H tra...

Re: E46 Touring with GS450H Gearbox Motor
Where do you find a breaker. Why not start with companies breaking EV's on eBay? Also breakers in your local area? You want to call them and build a relationship in the hope that they will offer you first refusal on any new cars/parts they get. Also take a look at EV Breakers in Newry; https://www....

Re: E46 Touring with GS450H Gearbox Motor
thinking of buying an actual wrecked Zoe instead, that way I can sell any unused parts, and it should be cheaper, one sold on copart uk recently but can't figure out how to tell how much for. for 44kwh of i3 batteries will cost £9225 which is basically all of my budget, unless there's a cheaper sou...

Re: E46 Touring with GS450H Gearbox Motor
Okay, thinking Zoe batteries (from a salvage Zoe i'll buy) anyway as i3 and others will eat into budget too much, if I strip away and install the modules what BMS can I use, as I doubt the OEM one will work? I'm not sure you'll find much difference between ZOE and i3 battery prices. No doubt i3 bat...

Re: Mercedes S123 station wagon with Tesla SDU
When I cannot/don't want to go with Tesla batteries, what is a BMS good for when it does not balance? I thought one main purpose of a BMS is to control Voltage of the cells to prevent under/overcharge. Isn't balancing an integral part of this? Lithium batteries do not require 'balancing' because th...

Re: Order without VAT within EU
Have you (and Damien) considered working with Lars on a single webshop that provides all the open inverter boards? It sounds like you're doing a lot of work which takes you away from software/hardware development :( Regarding the ISA shuts, I'd be happy to facilitate that. I am in the process of set...

Re: Mercedes S123 station wagon with Tesla SDU
Note that my advice re buying a 2018 Tesla DU is designed to help users who have little understanding of the history and don't want to risk 1000's of euros. Obviously it would be possible to develop a wider list of 'good' DU's based on part numbers but I doubt anyone will publish that especially no...

There is a 2013 gs450h coming up for salvage auction near me. Has anyone here had a go at hacking the inverters in these? Please read through the forum, wiki and review the SuperYacht ('BEXUS') project; https://openinverter.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=96 Edit: a search on the wiki says the G...

Re: Mercedes S123 station wagon with Tesla SDU
I thought the ceramic bearings were the fix, wasn't aware of a "real" design change... Any links to technical details? You'll need to do the research and I can't remember if Tesla ever said exactly what changes they made to the DU but it included 'grounding conductors' to route the induce...
