Re: Interfacing: model 3 PCS <--> aem EV BMS-18 master
Update, as of current controller firmware and for the foreseeable future, the pcs isn't controllable over CAN. It also absolutely MUST be connected to the j1772 cp and pp pins at all times.
so for this all to work, the bms-18 will need to be configured to not need the cp and pp pins, and instead ...

Model 3 PCS identifying markings? finding onboard firmware version?
i'm attempting to bolster the wiki page for the sake of making pcs troubleshooting easier and more specific
for one, is this sticker on the top of the PCS some kind of market indicating hardware revision? or just a production serial number?

check this section of the PCS wiki page, and add the requested information to your post, it'll be really helpful to diagnose what's happening

Re: Looking For Feedback From Actual Tesla Model 3 PCS Users

I'd be curious what the logs look like when that's happening, maybe voltage rises too slowly or something, assuming the controller has the ability to do logs

Re: Looking For Feedback From Actual Tesla Model 3 PCS Users
checking in as someone who bought a PCS and am pretty excited by the possibility (cheap in junkyards, excellent specs)
It sounds like a huge problem is firmware variability but are there more than a couple hardware revisions?
is it possible to just flash the boards to a fixed firmware rev?

out of curiosity, aside from this issue do you have a working PCS in your build which charges at full power (not stuck at 2kw)?

getting back into this, can damien's controller deal with being "told" to start charging without seeing the CP and PP pins?
it looks like the aem bms really wants to be entirely in charge of charging, and basically just bark orders at the OBC to start and stop on a dime

3d printed housing for PCS controller with ampseal connector?
Damien mentioned commissioning a printed housing for the controller back in the main support thread but did anything ever come of that?

Re: Possible board geometry issue with PCS v3 + the amp seal connector? (Misaligned mounting holes)
Ok yeah, just got the correct plug and it's the same issue
I can correct for this by drilling the right side clip hole wider, but still this is a board design issue, I'm not sure the best place to let Damien know though? Just an email ? Make a comment on the GitHub?

:Yeah I discovered that only an hour later, gotta get the black connector now regardless then
However that still leaves the mismatched holes on the board, unsure if I should just snap off the clip piece for the side that doesn't align and let solder hold it in

Interfacing: model 3 PCS <--> aem EV BMS-18 master
Starting a thread to ask some questions, I'll be updating this as things become clearer and hopefully have a full guide one day
First question:
The M3 PCS needs to see the CP and pp pins on the j1772 port, as well as of course see L1, L2, and PE (gnd)

Incoming dumb question that I didn't think would be appropriate for the support thread;
Could this setup play nice with the aem vcu200? They like certain on board chargers but I wonder if the expected can IDs for specific values from the obc can be changed, so it's getting the same message.

Not sure if it's in here but, has anyone identified what the C rating on these batteries are? I'd be doing four parallel strings of 6 most likely, and want to put them being a model s performance rear drive unit, and I'm wondering if the batteries could handle that
