Looks like the Teslas 15Ah limit can be worked-around by pretending a charge current while actually discharging: viewtopic.php?p=78883#p78883

Great, congratulations. Surprisingly you found well matching connectors, seems to be a good alternative to the expensive Deutsch connectors. Where to obtain these, which partnumber do they have?

Yes, also my strategy regarding reliability is: "a wire is a wire". And second strategy regarding reliability: "Do not use the crappy ESP controllers." But on the other hand, the Wifi stability has drastically improved over the last 20 years, and there are applications with the E...

Re: unstable Wi-Fi connection
I may be wrong, but my understanding was that this error message may be misleading. Because it not only pops up if there is a communication issue between the wifi module and the STM32, but also if there is a communication issue between the laptop and the wifi module. If this is true, I could imagine...

I can confirm the both EPCU identifier pairs, the Ioniq uses the same. One for the inverter part and one for the VCU part.

Good news: The transformerless Foccci works on the Alpitronic charger. Here driving a 230V bulb (just because it's nice) and a 24V/20A power supply (which will be the use case later).
Was running stable until I stopped after 18 minutes.

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking
Impressive work. Just few cents from my side: - unconnected pins are not marked as "intentionally unconnected" with the "x" mark. Not sure whether this leads to checker warnings. - https://www.mouser.de/datasheet/2/389/tda2822d-1852101.pdf says absolute maximum Vs is 15V. I propo...

Re: Setting up for syncofs FOC tune - advice sought
As first step, even before tuning anything, it needs to be assured that in "zero request" state, the inverter does not draw more than a small idle current. Maybe someone with a working setup could measure, how much current the inverter draws normally at 60V and zero request. I guess not mo...

Re: Setting up for syncofs FOC tune - advice sought
Maybe I'm wrong, but shouldn't a zero requested motor current lead to a (nearly) zero supply current? So the bulb would be off if zero current is requested. Any chance to measure phase voltages with oscilloscope?

Re: TIDA-01513 Isolation monitoring [SOLVED]
Or, an different approach of thinking, which comes to the same conclusion: - The minus inputs of both op-amps are exactly tied to the vref, because of the op-amp behavior. (It controls the output always in a way, that the voltage difference between + and - is zero.) - This means, at the input side, ...

Re: TIDA-01513 Isolation monitoring [SOLVED]
- You start with the formula of an inverting op-amp. The gain is defined by the ratio of the feedback resistor and the serial resistor. - For simplification, let's assume the circuit is symmetrical, means the measurement circuits of the HV+ and HV- have the same resistor values. This gives the possi...

Re: Develop a QCA7000 board?
Good news regarding the transformerless Foccci boards: Just populated the QCAs on two of them, and they work like a charm. Even with additional 26dB attenuation of the RF signal, the demo charging with pyPLC as EVSE works perfect. image.png This means, if you order a Foccci in the shop, you could se...

Re: charging station / wallbox hardware basics
LF356 should be ok. The only concern is the output voltage swing, WE need nearly rail to rail, which does neigther the 356 nor the 355 advertise. So just give a try and look on the scope.

I do not want to be too strict, but since we are still in the beginning maybe it is possible to rename the file and the class to contain the triple c.

Re: Develop a QCA7000 board?
Sounds quite promising. For debugging during the first steps you could use pyPLC with homeplug adapters, this is easy and cheap and offers the opportunity to record pcap files which are quite helpful to understand what is going on, using wireshark.

Some cons for the current design are already clear:
- Brass tubes cannot carry more than a few amps
- AC pins are missing
- PLA will be instable at higher temperatures

Re: charging station / wallbox hardware basics
If you do not need the plastic housing anymore, just dremel it away (e.g. at the green lines), maybe this reveals some snap-in thingies below the PCB.
If nothing helps, you can dremel the housing and PCB on the blue line.

Re: charging station / wallbox hardware basics
Could you share a photo of this situation? I would assume cutting the PCB is not necessary. Either desoldering the connection from the PCB, or cutting the metal beside the PCB with a dremel should be fine. [Edit] If your PCB is the same as here: https://github.com/uhi22/pyPLC/blob/master/doc/hardwar...

Re: Throttle Pedal Voltage Test Query
Just two ideas: - Does the actual supply voltage match the specification (I guess 5V nominal)? - Where does the "specification" come from? Is it the specification of the pedals full mechanical range, or is it the specification of the pedal mounted in the car, which may limit the mechanical...

if I don't use any firmware for the QCA7005, can I implement the application externally? There are two software packages, we need to sort out which firmware you are talking about. 1. The first package is the one which is executed inside the QCAs ARM controller. This is stored in the SPI flash as (c...

Also make sure that you use the intended clock polarity. Here is an example of the C3 message (binary 11000011, means "read, internal, reg 3 RDBUF_BYTE_AVA"). The data is sampled on rising edge of the clock and prepared on falling edge.
Red is clock, yellow is MOSI.

Re: Develop a QCA7000 board?
The firmware on the SPI flash should not be your issue. Even if you remove the SPI flash completely (or it is empty), the QCA will respond to the software version request with the response "Bootloader". I just measured the MISO line on a Foccci. If the QCA does not see a homeplug coordinat...

Re: Mid to long range camper bus as first project - bad idea?
I do not want to kill the idea of creating a vehicle which drives 1000km without charge, but there are regions where it is fine to charge each 200km, so concentrating on a well-cooled, fast charging capable battery instead of a really big one could be an alternative solution. Of course not in all co...
