Old post, but if it helps, I'm using a 2007 inverter on a 2010 transmission and all is fine.

The model type ended in 2011.

Estimates are 220kW/300HP... we won't know for sure until we stick it on the dyno in the spring.

Over the next three months we will measure acceleration, top speed, test the dual speed gearbox, and validate cooling strategies. We will also get the car inspected by an automotive engineer, change taxation to electric drive, and get it through a national vehicle test.

Once all that's complete we'll put some miles on it as a daily driver and undertake some towing tests at the 2100kg car limit. Then it's long range battery, CCS rapid charging, etc., etc. :D

The Super Yacht (aka BEXUS) was inspected and passed by an automotive engineer today... next steps include changing the taxation class to electric drive, NCT, and testing on track and road 8-)

Nice. I'm using the same Tesla charger and TRW pump on my project :)

What are you using for a DC-DC converter?

I can't imagine that the GS DC-converter is suitable, as it's rated to 288v input.

Hi,

Is there a break down of the different components for the SuperYacht? I have a Subaru Forester I am looking to convert with the same GS 450h gearbox and is looking for information on this build.

Pretty sure it's all covered in his video series. But it wouldn't hurt to review them regardless.

From what I have gathered:

GS450h gearbox
GS450h inverter w/ his opensource control board
Tesla Gen 3 (?) charger w/ his opensource control board

I also would like to know if he has BMS with the batteries, and what else is inside that high voltage junction box.

No physical BMS is used with the test pack (it's monitored manually). When the long range pack is fitted then I suspect it will use the BMS fitted to the modules (if OEM) or Johannes BMS.

Contactors and Precharge relay/resistor.

So with today's testing of the Bexus (current weight 2050kg) and a crappy 450v battery that sags like a ton of bricks under load the car was pulling like a train up through 70mph up a hill. So imho we don't need 650v.

What is the range for a 450V pack?

Voltage doesn't dictate range. Kilowatt hours is a better general indicator.
But weight of car, driving style, terrain and even climate factor into the range calculation.

I guess a better question to ask is how much kWh does Damiens pack have? And that is driving the motors at all of 450V? Is there any boosting using the boost converter?
