Re: (Driving) Tesla SDU in Fiat X19

I finished painting the X earlier this week after working extensively on installing and blending the fiberglass fender flares into the body. I am slowly putting it back together while driving around town. Thought I'd share some pics. I still can't seem to connect to the wifi with my pone or iPad on ...

Re: Tesla SDU in Fiat X19 (Test Drive a Success)

The car is now licensed, insured, and street legal. I've been driving around town for a few days. What a kick! Never driven anything quite like it. The first drive I had on the stock size tires and wheels-a bit scary when mashing the pedal. Today I did some trimming to fit the larger rubber. Front ...

Re: Nissan Dc dc converter wiring question

Thanks for the response on this! Ok, so the stud in the first image is 12v Aux positive? I was just assuming that the 12v Aux neg was the case, and grounding the case would solve that. Not sure though. If I am just using the converter to charge my 12v aux battery, then it sounds like all I might ...

Re: Nissan Dc dc converter wiring question

Upon looking at the large connector which I believe is F11, and using the wiring diagram, all of the colors are different. They must change going out on the male end? Following the 4 wires coming out of the converter, according to the diagram, the only wire that has a signal name on the connector is ...

Nissan Dc dc converter wiring question

Hi,
I know there is a wiki and some threads about the wiring of this converter, but they all seem to be in regards to the multi-pin connectors coming out of the big box (which I won't be using).
Do the pink and black wires coming out of the converter together go to +/- HV?
Also, there is a terminal ...

Re: Tesla SDU in Fiat X19 (Test Drive a Success)

Took a spin out front of my house today for the first time. Only one battery box(170v), no proper mounting yet, etc. A lot of work ahead of me but nice to get it moving!

Re: Throttle Pedal Question

Just out of curiosity, Is the “stop inverter” button a safe way to shut down the inverter even when the motor is spinning?

You have to stop first
That would be the issue :)
Is there any way to put the inverter in "stop" mode other than turning off the ignition?

Ok thanks. So I wouldn't use the "brake transolver ground"? Just hook to chassis ground?

Re: Throttle Pedal Question

Thanks. My pedal has two sensors, a total of 6 wires. Currently I have 3 hooked up and I’m testing in “single regen”. It seems common to hook up all six and use it “dual channel” for redundancy/safety, any ideas where to connect those other 3? I only have a SDU with OI board installed-no ...

Throttle Pedal Question

I recently acquired a 2012 Leaf throttle pedal/pigtail, and tried hooking it up on the test bench. I wired it correctly based on research of past posts. When I put the unit in drive, I get immediate full throttle. I started with defaults and then tried adjusting some settings (potmin/ampmin ...

Re: DC-Dc converter question

I strongly recommend getting a propper BMS setup instead of relying on the cheap Chinese garbage. They wont last and will result in a fire.

I totally agree with this. My build will be in the testing stage for a very long time, and this is what I have for now due to budget. Theses little bms's ...
