Can I use the clutch plate off of a different Lexus model to lock the input shaft?
Can I run/drive the car on only MG2 or do I need to use both motors?
Yes, you ...

Re: GS450h without external oil pump
Ok. Moving forward. I now have a GS450h transmission, complete with pump and the inverter.
Although I have the oil pump, I'm still planning to see if I can find a way of running without it, for simplicity.
Having the pump means I should be able to trace the flow through the trans and see if the ...

I had been considering this but there's still much discussion on the overall gearing issues and would rather use something proven.Jacobsmess wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 1:45 pm Sounds like you might be best served using the IS300H/GS300H transmission

Re: GS450h Transmission. What engine mounts.
This is for a Scimitar so it's a ladder chassis.
Oh, snap! I didn't think anyone else would be thinking of a Scimitar for conversion, let alone with a GS450h.
I don't have even the project car yet but going to view an SE5a tomorrow.
I see you have engine mounts coming so you must be quite far ...

GS450h without external oil pump
Hi, I'm looking seriously at the GS450h for a next project
(currently working on something which uses all drive components from same source for simplicity).
The GS450h looks ideal for a RWD car BUT could some added complexities be taken out?
If the PSD is locked, then the internal pump would run ...
