Re: US congress investigates big oil deception practise

Horrifying and utterly unsurprising. We need some galvanized people to take them to court and get as much compensation out of them to to be reinvested in green tech. I wonder how far back they have set progress....

I've not heard anywhere that states the need for reprogramming on any thread on the leaf BMS when I was looking into it. Do you have more information on this?

I believe so. Alibro here has used the 24kWk leaf BMS with VW modules. You may need to reinterpret the messages with an Arduino or something similar but I'm a bit out of my depth from here on.

Re: Nissan Leaf BMS

I am considering getting new CATL modules for a project that is based on Nissan Leaf and Resolve EV. These would be 4s1p x24 modules and total 63kWh. Are there any options for getting hold of a Leaf 62kWh BMS? I don’t want to buy an entire second hand battery pack. They come up on eBay from time to...

What sort of power and voltage in/out is the DCDC capable of? And are the controllable separately from the inverter?

Have you tested the fit of those HV covers? Bigpie printed some off for me recently but the piece clashes with the downward facing coolant port on the inverter.

Also worth double and triple checking you have the right pins. I've definitely been guilty of having the pins wrong due to the board being the wrong way round....

Running an extra motor for regen only

Humour me and then tell me I'm stupid but. If converting a 4WD vehicle, would there be any advantage in adding a 2nd motor for the FWD component and using it solely for regen? My thinking is you want 70% or so of breaking power up front rather than in the back but for RWD vehicles the regen is limit...

That's a neat instrument cluster. How are you controlling the Speedo? Is that still mechanical from the gearbox?

Thanks that's all very helpful, I'll drop you a line if I have any difficulties. I'm not planning on scanning the whole van just sections of it to design mounts so it should be fine, and then I can just prototype mounts by 3d printing them until they're right.

The latest web ui hides SWD update as it only works with additional connections. I was never sure but will the latest web UI work on zombie? UART may fail but in that case you can power cycle and retry I did try power cycling several times but the behaviour was the same, it says upload complete, bu...

Zombieverter looses WiFi connection when trying to update

A friend asked me to check their zombieverter with my bench setup, all checked and fine but it is still on version 2.04. when I try to update it by swd UART update, the binary file uploads but the connection drops and it doesn't complete the update.

Splined sleeve? For locking the input shaft? That's just a cut down clutch disc. Not sure on the water pump though, I suspect people just use whatever is available to them and cheap.
