Re: outlander charger with zombieverter
In the current firmware release the Outlander charger is only working with the i3lim interface, but will be fixed in the near future to run without it.

Re: [Driving] MG F - Outlander Rear motor and inverter.
Useful data, thanks. Comes a little way short of what i was hoping for given the "paper" specs. The factory figures for a 1.6 MGF are ~9 seconds to 60. The outlander motor on paper at least has more torque at 195nm vs 145nm for the 1.6L engine. Peak current of 225A at say 350v suggests a ...

Re: [Driving] MG F - Outlander Rear motor and inverter.
I'm intrigued with the performance that this motor can provide, do you have any performance data? 0-60 time? What sort of battery power does it pull when at full send? Just had a couple of goes. But I think the phone gps is a bit laggy, got pretty much bang on 11 seconds according to Torque pro. In...

Re: Electric cars catch fire in Florida after flooding
Facts aren't all that useful for the remaining people that are ardently against EVs. Every one of them seems to have recently talked to a fireman who says most of his call outs are to EV fires. Then the response to anything stating facts or fires that were started by an ICE car like the Luton airpor...

Re: Zombie Firmware for ZE1 e+
That gen1 module will run any gen leaf as far as I am aware. I have personally seen it running up to 2019 leaf inverters and motors no problem.
I think the issue you have is voltage, pretty sure the lead needs a few more volts to run via canbus.

Re: Insuring your DIY EV in the UK
Got outright refused by the NFU for the MG, because of the age of the vehicle and the modifications. Strangely they were quite happy to quote for the 50 year old tractor with the same modifications. Ended up going with Adrian Flux at £636, annoyingly £40 more than the renewal quote back in June. I d...

Re: Zombie and SDO
Got it working today. First I needed to add the SDO id to the canbus filter in stm32_vcu.cpp canInterface[1]->RegisterUserMessage(0x601); //CanSDO canInterface[0]->RegisterUserMessage(0x601); //CanSDO It uses the new format of SDO semantics. Take the parameter id you want to change from param_prj.h....

Re: [Driving/WIP] MG F - Outlander Rear motor and inverter.
Upgrades are pretty much done now. BMW hybrid battery sitting nicely in the front subframe, freeing up space in the cabin for a passenger seat yet again. Zombieverter is in running everything, had to make a few additions to the charger module to run stand alone but it's working great now. I'll submi...

Re: [WIP] Leyland 255 Tractor - Nissan Leaf EM61
Nice work, looking good. What are the legal implications of converting a tractor? Will you be able to drive it on the road? Shouldn't be any reason why I can't drive it on the road. I've already got it road registered with photos from before I stripped it down, then assuming it goes the same as the...

Been doing a little bit of work on this in the evenings when it gets too dark to work in the MG shed. Mostly starting on the 12v system, running wires for lights etc. It now has a full set of new tyres. Re: Zombie and SDO
Have got a theory from Mr Catphish on why it's not working. Doesn't look like Zombie has anything in CAN filtering to allow the SDO messages through. Will try and test it this week and update.

Oh yeah sorry missed out that quite important point in my last post. Didn't seem to work in either format. I think it's a Zombie specific thing, seen the new format working with the most recent OI firmware on an LDU board this last week.

Bit of an update. Been trying both new and old format message. This current message is trying to change Throtmax which is number 25 on the param_prj.h. Trying to change the value of Throtmax to 10.

Zombie and SDO
Another Zombie question. Has anyone used CAN SDO with zombie to change parameters? I a little lost on what variant of CAN SDO it uses. It looks like it references a branch of the libpopeninv from 10 months ago, so I'm guessing it would be using 0x23 as the command byte to change a parameter. Althoug...

Zombie Run Indication
Hi, just a quick question on the Zombie IO options. Specifically the Run Indication, is this active when the inverter is in run mode or just when it's in gear? I'm assuming run but hoping in gear.
Edit: Answered my own question. It is active when the inverter is in run mode.

Have a test battery from the MG fitted now. Had to remove most of the tinwork at the front, but it will do the job. Currently cleaning up and painting the rear wheels before getting new tyres put on. Then I need to look at hooking up the new hydrostatic steering. After that it should be ready for a ...

I've had a good go at porting this code to the Zombie, but it's proving to be a bit more than my limited coding skills can handle at the moment.
I'll keep trying, but if anyone gets bored of waiting here is the cut down arduino script that runs the charger.

I have a 7.2kW Cayenne Phev charger which I think belongs to this family as well. Only has the one hybrid canbus and I have it running on Mitchy's script. Model number 5QE 915 681 BQ. I have narrowed down the required canbus messages to the following: 10ms: 0x191 100ms: 0x3C0 0x503 0x1A1 This is the...

Re: Outlander rear motor and inverter
Here is my github repo on the controller I made for it, hardware and software. I wouldn't recommend using it though, teensy 3.6s are hard to find and there are some pretty glaring issues in the hardware design to say the least. It was originally designed for controlling the Gen 2 prius open inverter...
