Is it possible that they can selectively control the amount of solder paste?

The solder mask (the area the solder can spread into, F.Mask) and the paste stencil (the area they actually apply the paste to, F.Paste) are separate files that you generate and upload. If you want less solder, just ...

Re: Tesla SDU Drive / Reverse Select Interlock

Some of the features you're describing exist in the openinverter software and some don't. From memory:

* Pressing the brake pedal disables cruise control and disables the throttle.
* Gear selection does not require the brake to be pressed and this is not an option that currently exists.

If you ...

Is the kicad project on that github the latest version? Back silkscreen text is "Daisychain BMS v5". I ask because the readme mentions 3 interfaces and this one has 2 (my project is fine with one or two, so no worries there), and also the common mode filter has been increased past the original ...

Re: Lexus GS450H motor and inverter what voltage are you running

The beauty of this unit is that it will run very well on a very wide range of voltages, but your best bet is to aim for the standard 96S (approx 360V nominal). This provides the best balance of safety (you're more likely to blow up the inverter and yourself at higher voltages), and torque (400V is ...

If I post this info, then what will be the point of the inverter board that Damien is making now? Also I don't want to take away the bread of Johannes, his openinverter shop and so on. Sorry.

If this is your only motivation, then please send the data to Damien and Johannes and let them decide ...

As royhen99 says, the open source VCU you are looking for is ZombieVerter. This works great with Leaf hardware as well as some others.

Re: Continuity at the Inverter

This does feel like the polarity was reversed at the inverter, or maybe you . Are you able to trace things through and determine if that's the case? If the current stopped, then presumably something in the circuit opened. If it wasn't the contactor, and it wasn't the fuse, then I can only assume the ...

Re: New BMS for bq76PL455A based batteries

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to update this thread with some important information as I get questions about this from time to time.

First of all, to give a little background, the best way to build a BMS to work with these batteries would be to design a PCB with a bq76PL455A chip and an STM32 ...

I did considerable work tuning the SDU. I posted a set of parameters here that I deemed to be a good safe starting point: https://openinverter.org/parameters/view.html?id=27

There is also another (I believe more aggressively tuned) version that posted here: https://openinverter.org/forum/viewtopic ...

Another milestone reached today. I ordered 10 QCA7005 chips to JLCPCBs factory and can now select it for assembly :)

This is fantastic news, and the price is perfectly reasonable considering the value of the finished board! Looking forward to seeing some "v1" boards.

We've also got the chip serial which is unique

This sounds good. If we append the STM32 serial number to the 02:: prefix, we should get a nice unique and consistent address.

Re: Develop a QCA7000 board?

Since we don't have a Vendor ID, the best way to generate a valid MAC address is to use a "locally administered" address.
For this to be valid, bit 0 of the first byte should be zero, to indicate a unicast address, and but 1 of the first byte should be one, to indicate locally administered. All ...

Re: Zombieverter and Tesla SDU Openinverter

How does Zombieverter, in combination with SDU (or LDU), handle the overcurrent event when it is not aware of the tripmode (=1) setting of the OI board in the DU?

Zombie would not be aware of the error. It will simply leave the contactors closed until you turn the ignition key off. This is the ...

Re: About to spin for the 1st time, but how to properly turn OFF the system [SOLVED]

As long as the motor is not spinning, and no throttle is applied (ideally in neutral) then it's safe to disconnect the HV.

You can turn off the HV first, or the HV and LV simultaneously.
