Brake Pedal over CanBus
Hi, just a quick question, can we receive the brake pedal signal via canbus without laying a new cable to the zombie converter, would have 2 advantages, less cable to reduce the complexity, and would also activate the brake light when regenerating, I think for BMW E6x the canid would be 0x0A8

Re: Brake Pedal over CanBus
The BMS E6x and E9x have brake over CAN.
At this moment this is not a good idea due to how the CAN reading is done by the Zombie.
No the BMW is NOT setup to turn on brake lights via CAN info from the engine ECU which the Zombie Emulates.
So the short answer is NO & NO.

Re: Brake Pedal over CanBus
No timeouts or additional plausibility checks carried out.
There would have to be done per device, per variable read and determined through a failure mode analysis what a "correct" response is.
This is something that you cannot just "force" the variable to zero upon a message time out or error.
