buying that GS450h or not?

Post by Eric »

I was offered a GS450h. A complete, driving car for a very reasonable price. And all of a sudden all the possibilities were flying through my head. So i need to aks some questions before i buy something stupid.
First idea, take out everything petrol related and drive it electric only. As far as my research goes this is possible but requires some work and some additional parts.
Next idea, after driving it electric for a while i have my project pickup ready for swapping all the necessary parts from the GS tot the pickup and drive that electric. I just can't seem to find the gearbox dimension so i can see if it will fit the pickup without to much modifications.

Surely, some of you can help me answer these two question and make my decision easier/better.

There are cad models of the GS450H on the wiki as well which might help you figure out if it will fit or not.

That we have never seen a GS450H converted to pure electric yet is probably a good indicator of how complex that project is likely to be. The easier option is to convert your pickup. There is a ton of documentation on using it in a conversion here and plenty of other projects using it to give you some references.
