I just bought a Dilong aftermarket charger - Now What?

Post by Gregski »

a while ago we put together a Group Buy: Dilong 6.6kW OBC / 1.5kW DC-DC Converter, 300-550V Output and a few of us took the plunge. I feel like a proper write up of what to do once you get one of these aftermarket onboard chargers is warranted, and this may be a better home for it than the classifieds. (why don't I just write it up on the Wiki, because I don't know how to do that, and I prefer the free style of the forum format rather than being pigeon holed into a layout, sorry guys)

son don't sit back, don't relax, but instead participate and help us do this, please

QUESTIONS:

1. Why would one use this one instead of a 1st Gen Chevy Volt one or a Mitsubishi Outlander?
  • both of those are great chargers, but they only go to about 400v and this one can do 550v
  • as of this writing the 1st Gen Chevy Volt charger is not supported by the Zombieverter out of the box

Alternating Current AC Input Connector

for this one I will be using my Walmart receptacle (I know, it has to be good)

if wiring an already attached J1772 receptacle on the other end, make sure to first slip on these end caps before crimping the pins on the wire

it appears they don't use the Control Pilot and Proximity Pilot signals ???
