Deleting canbus modules
Hello :I'm still at it . I was reluctant to post more questions as some of the responses I received were rather rude but, here I am again.
I got the system from the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-e that I fitted to my 1965 Ford Falcon to actually operate both forward and backward.
I have received enough fault codes on the Forscan to write a novel ! Is there some way to fool the system that the deleted CANBUS
modules are actually in place?

Re: Deleting canbus modules
I haven't read through to other thread, it started going off track a bit. Which modules are you trying to delete?
The Chinese Canbus systems seem to allow a lot of modules to be simply deleted, but there are a few must have units for them to switch on and not throw error codes resulting in system shutdown, before you even get started .....

Most just spoof the original signals to make the ECU think they are still there or reuse the canIDs for other tasks.

Re: Deleting canbus modules
It may be possible to code out some of these modules. For example, if the rear view camera is an option in any markets, or an option Ford thought was worth adding as an option they likely will have a place say in the communications / can bus / gauge cluster to turn it off. It would likely be in a module that talks to all the different modules and expects responses from them.
If each module you want to delete is an option you might be able to change the coding to turn off these options like the factory would. I have no idea if Ford did this, and what high level of scan tool you'd need to accomplish it but I'd expect it's likely that they did.
There will likely be a few straggler modules that you can't do this with. Those will need some communications spoofed, basically replying to a health / info check request (s) with the correct / acceptable responses.

I feel like a broken record but lets repeat. Log a fully working car, you will then need to boardcast those messages on the right CAN bus networks to fool the car into thinking they are there.Falcemach1 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 5:03 am Is there some way to fool the system that the deleted CANBUS

Re: Deleting canbus modules
I have had luck with disconnecting modules with vcds in VAG cars, with Fords I have only ever tried turning features off inside modules, it maybe possible with Forscan or the dealer tool but otherwise like Tom said you'll have to broadcast the canbus signals the other remaining modules are expecting to receive. Modern cars are very interconnected and can be extremely difficult to modify in the way you've got it setup using all the original modules.

Re: Deleting canbus modules
OK I do have access to the same year of car but, how do Record the data any broadcast messages which would be sent from such as the supplemental restraint system , frunk module , or image processing module , which are no longer connected to the system ?

Re: Deleting canbus modules
You need to connect to the relevant can on the working car, record some action, IE driving, save the log. Clear repeat for charging etc.
Record the same bus on your setup, save log.
Compare files, filter out id's that are present on the log from your car and reply the remaining IDs to your setup. Hopefully you'll get it to do what you're trying to do. If so you can then start reducing the IDs sent until it stops. Then you know which are required.
If you've already got it driving back and forward, what are you trying to achieve that it's not doing?

Re: Deleting canbus modules
I found a few things searching "Mach-e dbc file"
Looks like FORScan might be able to turn modules or maybe just options off, https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads ... eet.24701/
https://github.com/sillygoose/mme-record
I'm sure there's more but I don't want to fall into this rabbit hole.

What I'm trying to is to get rid of the faults that display on the IPC I want to get the finished car inspected and fear that it will fail .The faults
show up as large printed faults on the IPC . I don't want to see that

Re: Deleting canbus modules
I have tried to post pictures but, I cannot. I have also tried to download SavvyCAN but, I have yet to find where to down load the program . All the sites I look at seem to be for computer experts that know their way around computer systems

This is fairly simple. Select "Full Editor & Preview" and then there is an "Attachments" tab with instructions.
