Hi
I have a LEM CAB300 C/SP2 Current sensor, that is making a hi pitch noise about 18khz, running of bench PSU
the can message are OK, has anyone tested one before and hared them?

Do these need to be powered with 12v or 5v? :)

Its not hard, info is in the datasheet.

Mind posting what your recieved CAN looks like? Where did you get the sensor from?

it was from ebay looking at the can signal its just ____-______-______-_____- so the timing interval is 19khz so looks like the sensor integral dc dc switching noise i can hear.

conclusion is the senser is duff

thanks for every ones help

Think there are some fake China copies around. I made that mistake one day when they were hard to source. Threw them away and now only use and stock original ones bought from LEM directly myself.

Has anyone tried to configure those for a different CAN speed? It says in the datasheet they are configurable. Wonder how? I would need 125 kbps speed 😊

The CAB300 is fixed at 500 kbps. Some CAB500's can be reconfigured.

Does anybody know if orientation of the CAB300 matter? It can be mounted with the front side with LEM logo facing the battery and with the back side facing the battery. I mean will current reading be positive or negative or it won't have any difference? 😊
