There was a problem of a very tall through hole 680uf main input cap hitting the lid. Swapping to a shorter but wider one cured the problem. Completely absent on the V5 as all are smd.

No master/slave on the V5 as of now but I do have some thoughts in the back of my mind about the wifi...

Personally I don't think this is an issue... very few people will install multiple Gen 2 chargers once we have 250kW CCS... look at the Tesla Model 3 with 11kW AC for example

Yes, we expect both the Super Yacht (here) and ICE Breaker (here) to have CCS based on the Model 3 Charge Port ECU (here) in the next few weeks

We're using the Tesla Model 3 EU Charge Port ECU (see here). We'll publish updates as they become available in that thread and on Damien's YouTube channel.

I have Trouble to config Damiens Controller for Gen3.
I did all well and read the Manual carefully and install the program PuTTy on my Computer.
I start and connect to Controller,press d for stopping the traffic.
press 1 changes Auto eneble is ok!
but i cannot Change Parameter with value!!! only on/off
for example Pressing 3 then 1 or "31" is only switching 1 enable onoff!

does anyone know this Problem?

What version hardware and software are you using?

Can you post a video showing this behaviour and show how you've wired up the charger for test? The more information you provide the more likely you are to get help

i use Windows 10,PuTTY 0.73 x64
I have Gen3 North Amerika Version.
So must the Controller connected to charger modules for config????
I tryed both,no difference!
actual Status when i connect to charger:when i put IN1 to 12 V all three modules led turn on.(god sign??)

Assuming you're testing in Austria, how have you wired the mains input? Single Phase or have you modified the charger hardware?

Is this a tested controller board from Damien or one you made yourself?

What firmware version are you using? If you don't know where did you get it from?

Now i tryed another computer but same issue.
Is there need to connect to charger full wired? (AC,DC)for programming these little parameters on controller???

Do you have CR/LF enabled on your terminal program? There is no need to change the software on the controller. They are shipped programmed and tested.

Sorry but for me is the first time using PuTTY!
Also i make a mess trying combinations with keys and they effect programming( Voltage =0,Current =0)
Why is programming not needed??? I have 96S Tesla,and the current should be increased after testing!,no?

Try using termite or just Arduino IDE should work right after installation.

Just a quick question, apologies if this has been discussed before.

I seem to recall an issue with these charger controllers where they aren't able to trigger an EVSE by pulling the Pilot line to 0v, apparently this caused an issue with the microcontroller?

Was this a real thing, or did I imagine it? If this was a real issue, was it ever resolved?

I'm about to order some bare PCBs for my project (incorporates BMS and charger controller), and would rather make changes now than later!

There was a bug on the old v1 pcb with some missing grounds but that was way back. Current designs are fine in that respect to the best of my knowledge.

To clarify when I said you do not need to reprogram the controller I mean you do not need to change the software that is installed.

Please do the following :
Download and install arduino ide from here :
https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software

Connect the controller to your pc with a usb cable

Open the arduino serial monitor at 115200 bps

You should see information scrolling on the screen

type d and press enter. This brings up the menu.

From here you can set the parameters as required.

When set type q and press enter to quit the menu.

If this does not work for whatever reason and you believe there to be a problem with the unit then please contact me via email and return the unit to me for testing.
