EMUS BMS in EV ranger with Joromy inverter board

Post by riii »

USA distributor of EMUS BMS systems is electronicmotorsport.com based out of Alameda CA

This is where you can order a kit: https://www.electricmotorsport.com/chec ... id/101512/

It should interface nicely with the new Joromy inverter board which I'm planning to do.
Cell communication CAN bus adapter may not be necessary.

Attached is a nice schematic of how the BMS should interface with an EV thankfully provided by Johannes.

Johannes, does there exist similar style schematics of the EV Ranger OEM? Particularly it would be nice to see how we can populate OEM connectors with new components like the BMS. The wiring PDF attached may be sufficient but it is cumbersome to flip through... or am I being lazy?

Thanks

Have a look at this:

This is all connections in the battery belly, with contactors and Simp BMS.
If you are going to use the original contactor box the precharge AUX and NEG contactor is done.

The rest should be same, except for the CAN bus on the Emus, don't think that would work for display.
The Emus has serial output for display, but you would probably use bluetooth and Emus app.

Will take a picture of my BMS box inside the battery belly.

Don't bother going through the Ranger manual!!!

Also d/l the Ranger_setup_new_3 - Schematic.pdf also for Simp BMS, but almost the same for Emus.

All connectors are labeled. (see Bat_pack_and_TIM_connectors_V1.1.pdf)

This is something similar, but with the Emus and "Keep BCM happy"

It's in this post, because it also has pins for the Simp BMS.

Have a look in the Wiki:

Will try to gather all information there, now it's all over the place..... :?

Nice to hear from you again, I hope your Ranger project has progress.
