SDU coolant flow direction

Post by Isaac96 »

I'm working on installing a S-RDU in my Boxster as detailed on my project thread -- electronics are working well so far, so now it's time to think about cooling.

Looking at the unit, there are four coolant barbs. Two on a small heat exchanger on the top of the unit (the motor cooler), and two on the inverter.

I will be sending flow through the inverter first just to keep temperatures a little lower.

However, is there an 'ideal' or at least 'recommended' flow direction for each part?

Thanks!

(I'd attach pictures but the forum isn't allowing it? only tried .png, probably just another bug in the new software.)

Weber has a newish video on yootoobe, don't recall if it is an SDU specifically however, where coolant flow is explored.
