Antispinn system

Post by Majshumlan »

Hi

Im looking into doin a EV build with Tesla Large Drive/Opensource Inverter and are wondering
if/how any one have done a antispinn system?

Is it done by using a second cpu I/O unit reading wheel encoders and controlling the throttle by the CAN bus?

Best regards

I believe ZeroEV offer this for their commercial system:

Zero-ev costs look reasonable...

The Zero-EV system runs all within the inverter control board.

So they are probably using a secondary processor on their control board for sensing the wheel speed. Maybe something that acts as a man-in-the-middle between the throttle input and the main inverter mcu. I think they don't like to share how they are doing this? That's not "open inverter" anymore :)

Correct, after having helped develop the Open-Inverter solution to the point where it is now certain features were introduced and developed in software and hardware that are specific to the Zero-EV solution and regarded as unique selling points.

Ok,thanx for the answers!

I think I look into using a CR0032 as a processor for this.
Comparing wheel encoders and maby steering angle and let the sum of this control the throttle.
I would like to be able to have diffrent selectable driving modes also .Plus I could use the processor for alot more

Or you could look into starting a crowdfunder to commission Johannes (or someone else) to write the open source traction control software for the Tesla inverter boards. In that way we all contribute and benefit from the development 8-)

Depends on your end goal... if you need a supported and warranted solution then buy from Zero EV today... if you are happy with community development and support then open source may be the answer :)
