Thanks! That look's rather simple to do. I would imagine in that case you would just need to ask for 32amps on the canbus and it will switch automatically. That's very handy!

Re: MEB Chargers

I have a Cayenne two phase 7.2kW charger. Part number 5QE 915 681 BQ. Got it responding to 0x570 DLC8 0xFF 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 on PT CAN at 1 sec intervals. Same as the Seat Mii Damien has, which is probably unsurprising given the part numbers are very similar. I also then get some can dat...

Re: can id´s 4 Gear Selector

Got a working arduino due script for selecting modes and lights. Currently I can't get the S mode light to work. However I can select it without the selector locking up. It was a bit tricky to figure out. The two cycling values in 0x3F3 are in relation to each other. It also locks up for a couple of...

Re: can id´s 4 Gear Selector

So you just need 0x3F3 to raise and unlock the gear selector, sending every 20ms. No changing lights yet, but I do get the gear selector sending back gear change canbus messages. Just need to write in the changing of messages depending on value of byte 2 in 0x312 #include "variant.h" #incl...

Re: can id´s 4 Gear Selector

Model number on mine is BW83-7E453-AC and I get the same result as you. Playing back some of the different logs raises the knob, allows it to rotate, changes light between P-R-N-D but doesn't lower the knob in any. The knob raised on the first playback and stayed there. I got mine to lower! I got t...

Re: MEB Chargers

So I have a dumb question that I haven't been able to find the answer too. Figured I would ask it on here in case anyone else had the same thoughts. What's the point with some of these chargers being two phases? Surely that means most home chargers are going to be limited to the single phase 3.6kW c...

Re: can id´s 4 Gear Selector

Looked through the canbus logs and figured out the rough patterns. These are the two important messages from what I can tell. 0x3F3 ID from Tester to gear selector Byte 0. 5C in park, 7C for not parked 1. 66 in park, 24 in R, 25 in N, 24 in D 2. Cycling value in any state, 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06...

Re: can id´s 4 Gear Selector

Not sure on the year, but model number is BH42-7E453-AJ. I did have success playing back the Gen 1 Logs with 0x312. Raises the knob, lets me rotate it, changes lights, but doesn't lower again, even playing back awake lower knob. Edit: looks like 0x3F3 is the only message needed to unlock the knob an...

I've figured out most of the pinout for the 12 pin connector: 1. 12v main feed 2. Ign 3. 4. 5. Can H 6. Can L 7. 8. 9. 10.12v 11. 12. Re: Leaf based 4x4 conversion... s

To give a rough idea on range with a truck like that. The ECC Defenders get around 2 miles per kWh. I think on vehicle solar charging might be a bit of a challenge, might have to question if it is worth it or not as well. Have a look at the size of say a 200w solar panel, then figure out how many yo...

Re: Land Rover Series 3 - Leaf Powered

Welcome to the forums! I do love to hear about Land Rover builds. I have a Land Rover 110 in the conversion queue at the moment, but it’s a year or so off. Needs a lot of chassis welding first. Never knew the LT230 could be converted to be 2wd/4wd selectable before I googled it after reading your po...

Re: 2023 Spring UK meet-up

I visited the Haynes motor museum today. The chargers are pod points, 35p/kWh currently which isn't that bad. They are around the side of the main car park so sort of out of the way. It seemed pretty deserted today, but then January is hardly peak tourism season. The museum itself is quite interesti...

Re: ZombieVCU coolant heater control

There are some general purpose input and output pins on the Zombieboard. So I would imagine it would be a case of figuring out what inputs the heater needs, then if there are available pins on the Zombie coding a module to run that heater. You could use one of the spare analog in pins to control tem...

Re: Leaf Gen 1 Inverter Board

Good point about the Leaf BMS CAN bus. I hadn't planned to have the two connected. Might it broadcast something that would cause the inverter to shut down? I don't know but would be concerned it might not play nice with Damiens VCU. I'm probably over thinking it but until the shunt arrives I think ...

Re: Leaf Gen 1 Inverter Board

You are right that the BMS will give pack voltage and I can see it on Leafspy but for now anyway the BMS is not installed. When I transfer everything to the new car I will try to reinstate it but for now I have to control my precharge with a timer which is not a great way to do it. Also I have no i...

Re: Leaf Gen 1 Inverter Board

Would this be suitable? https://ebay.us/nOdiaH I'm assuming it is 500A which is more than enough for my car. Edit: From what I can see it has no voltage sense outputs, am I right? I'm being stupid, your BMS should be spitting out the pack voltage onto canbus which would be a much easier way to do i...

Hi guys I have been working on this (at my usual snails pace) and last night discovered that the default software for this VCU works a treat with my Freelander. That's great news thanks. Have you tried it with a 7kW home charger? And how did you make the PP connection? Using a Nissan Leaf Granny charger I am charging at 2175kW or around 9A ac and 5A dc. This is pretty slow but for now is fine. Someday in the future I may look for a way to speed up the charging. I get the same speed with my Outlander charger and a granny charger. Can get around 8-9A DC when chargi...
