Hi Yasko,
Any updates on taking control of the slaves?
I've just bought and MG5 pack with only 800 miles on it so I was very happy to come across your post and get a first look inside what I've bought.

Re: Wanted - BMW S-Box
Not sure which of the boxes the S-box is but I am not using either of the control boxes from my hybrid pack if they are useful?

Re: Outlander FEMCU (front inverter)
Main lacking item is the way the torque command is generated is very crude.
Yes i see one would have to have really good throttle encoder to run motor with precision :).
But maybe 10bit A/D from throttle pedal would be sufficient if i would only use 1/4 torque for testing first...

Re: Outlander FEMCU (front inverter)
Finally got the front drive system working. :D
I had to give up on the Huebner boards in the end, the first board's 3v3 power regulator went haywire and fried the STM32. The second board I finally got working and managed to tune Syncofs to a pretty good spot with it spinning up fine on manual ID ...

Re: Outlander rear motor and inverter
As far as i know 0x287 is the torque request from the PHEV ECU that contains the torque requests for all the motors. Bits 1 and 2 when used together provide the torque requests for the front motor, bits 3 and 4 for the rear motor and 5 and 6 generator, I dont know what bits 7 and 8 do...

Re: Solid Red Alive LED
Just been doing some diagnostics, IC8 (REG117 voltage regulator) had a varying output between 3.62v and 3.75v with the 'alive' LED varying in brightness as the voltage changed. IC8 has now given up completly, the STM32 was very hot to the touch, im guessing it has some tolerence on voltage but maybe ...

Solid Red Alive LED
Has any one had their ALIVE LED show solid red? My board has been working fine but suddenly stopped working (no parameters or spot values showing up in web interface), on disassembly both LEDs are showing solid red. Is my STM32 dead?

Heatsink temperature sensor?
Hi all,
I am just trying to get my motor and heasink temperature sensors reading correctly, I have got thermister curves for both which I am just using to convert to ADC values. The motor temperature is fine as the V3 onboard voltage divider has close enough values to put out voltages in the right ...

Re: Outlander FEMCU (front inverter)
So, a bit of an update and some more information.

The V3 boards are in and working as much as they can be without being connected to a motor. The next few days will hopefully see them spinning a propellor. Damien sent me two of the model 3 modboards which I thought would be perfect ...

Two of those would definitely fit in the case without needing the lid spaced off and make wiring a lot easier. How much?

Re: Outlander FEMCU (front inverter)
Really excellent, I would be very interested to know where it would max out on the stock board. It seems several people have the stock system working with a CAN VCU but have problems with throttle mapping. The only draw back with the front inverter is that you can’t spin the generator motor ...

Re: Outlander FEMCU (front inverter)
You are making a hybrid boat!
I am just now working on a 2 power section Volt inverter brains for someone that wants to run PMSM as a motor and ACIM as a generator on a boat. Both power sections are rev. 2 for ease of assembly and part sharing. They have resolver control built in.
Best thing ...

Re: Outlander FEMCU (front inverter)
Damn! I went through your pinout and calculated a bit on what it would require to control the IGBTs with Lebowski.
Brain is no problem. It doesnt exactly take a lot of space. The problem is that your original brain PCB makes 24V power that is used on gates signals and comparators. I am not ...

Re: Outlander FEMCU (front inverter)
Hello
I have a Outlander PHEV as a Daily. I think it is a great car but could do with a battery twice the size.
With EV only power being limited to 60kw before the ICE starts it would also be great if this was double as well.
So correct me if I'm wrong but with IGBT's with ratings of 650V and 600A ...

Re: Outlander FEMCU (front inverter)
I would definitely agree with you. When you consider that when the batteries are flat the generator on the engine can charge the batteries and drive the front and rear motors all at the same time that is a lot of continuous power passing through just one IGBT stage. The solid copper 3 phase bus bars ...

I have sourced a set of external connectors for the front inverter from a company called Autoclick.

It seems this power section will go nicely with either Huebner or Lebowski brain.

In case anyone else is looking to do the same as I am doing here is what I have found out stripping down the front inverter to replace the logic board:

Here is the logic board, easy to see how the board is split into distinct sections for the motor and generator.
