Re: Peugeot Bosch SMG 180/120 with Gen 2 inverter [SOLVED]
The Bosch 180/120 is rated at 12,000 rpm according to https://www.greencarcongress.com/2013/08/20130829-bosch.html I have seen 12,800 rpm quoted but you will have to do your own research on that. 12,000 rpm is 72,000 erpm for a 6 pole pair motor which is 1200Hz. If you want the maximum rpm out of th...

Re: Peugeot Bosch SMG 180/120 with Gen 2 inverter [SOLVED]
To calculate power input use battery current not phase current. From your rpm/Volt figures I would speculate that your syncofs is not quite correct, retarded timing I suspect.

Re: Peugeot Bosch SMG 180/120 with Gen 2 inverter [SOLVED]
The Bosch 180/120 has 6 pole pairs and the resolver has 6 lobes so the correct setting is 6 and 6.

I use an isolated amp taking bus voltage off one of the IGBT's . There is non-isolated feedback noted in the original reverse engineering document but the transfer function is different for the left most feedback point compared to the right two. If you take a look under the driver board you can see ...

The gerbers will be released once Cole carries out some testing of the IMA/HSG combo on some electric minibike series that is supposed to be happening in Texas. I am really not sure of the timeline for that to happen but hopefully sooner rather than later.

Check out the ES forums where some guys have been working on a drop-in board for the IMA controller. I personally funded most of the development on it and a guy who goes by kiwi is doing the work. He should be able to sell you a board. That's hilarious Cole, I have two and a half weeks/100 hours an...

Re: Damien takes Zombie GS450h on dyno
Do you have a link for the Oak Ridge report with the GS450h and rx400h air gap details? I thought I'd read all the relevant ones but don't remember seeing that so may have missed one. No I don't sorry, air gap area times rotor radius is a useful metric for indicating torque production capability bu...

Re: Damien takes Zombie GS450h on dyno
The rx400h has a smaller air gap area and thus significantly less capable of producing the same power as a GS450h motor. The GS450 is similar in size to a Nissan Leaf motor according to the engineers at Oak Ridge National Labs in the US. Secondly since mechanical power is the product of angular velo...

Re: all in one board for open inverter project
You need to arrange the divider network on the high voltage side so that you see a maximum of 200mV across the 510 Ohm resistor at full battery voltage. Take a look at the datasheet for the si8920.

Right, I see, the angle in the plot is the notional resolver angle, not the actual physical angle of the rotor. Makes sense. I think I'm just going to have to go through each combination of polepairs, respolepairs, and resolver wirings. It's only 544 combinations :P I've gone through each polepair/...

Looks good to me, only suggestion would be to substitute the pairs of clamping diodes 1N4148W-7-F for BAT54S-7-F. You get two diodes in a SOT23-3 package.

There is no SWDIO label on the programming port in your schematic, did you pick that up before you did the pcb layout?
Also there appears to be no 10k pullup on the reset line which is a definite requirement.

EDIT: strange, i see from ORNL report motor is 6pole. But speed achieved with Lebowski RPM limiter led me to believe motor has 8poles. I will have to confirm that with Openinverter. The resolver gives it away, three lobes for a 3 pole pair motor. Each lobe represents 360 electrical degrees and in t...
