Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread

Hi, I have a problem with an LDU in cold environment. It is about -6°C and the inverter indicates these temperature values (see photo). When the temperature is positive it works much better. I didn't find the software part that was a problem. Have you got an idea ? https://i.ibb.co/CM1xZpT/temp-inve...

Re: Tesla Charger Support Thread

I use an EVBMW's board for Tesla GEN3 charger with a Tesla GEN3 charger. There is not much documentation on this configuration. What software is installed on the board ? What version ? what software can be put without unpleasant surprises ? I made the connections as it seems good to do. Then I plugg...

Re: Inverter Firmware v4.87.R

Thank you very much. The test is conclusive. The regen works with these parameters. idlespeed management works. It's an all-terrain vehicle and the idlespeed, brkmax and brknompedal settings are managed by the driver and transmitted by CAN bus. If anyone has an idea also for my OVERCURRENT error pro...

Re: Inverter Firmware v4.87.R

Do you think the problem is the inverter, the electronic card or the wiring? If the inverter starts, the vehicle works very well as long as you don't stop the inverter. It is impossible to determine the result of the START, if it fail, we wait a few minutes or few hours and it works again. I control...

Re: Inverter Firmware v4.87.R

I'm doing the test quickly. I recently encountered on a vehicle that worked well the following problem: quite often I can not pass the inverter in START because of an overCURRENT error. it's totally random, the temperature doesn't do anything and I can't find the cause. I searched the source code fo...

Re: Inverter Firmware v4.87.R

I tried this without a good result just by putting idlespeed=0
I'm going to do the test again as soon as I'm at the workshop by putting idlemode=3.
For information: if I have my foot on the brake (din_brake=1) there is no regen either.

Re: Inverter Firmware v4.87.R

Hi, I'm having a similar problem. I went from the 4.57 version to the 4.87 on a Tesla LDU and I have the same problem: no more regen. I checked all the settings: everything seems normal and the update has retained the initial values. Back to version 4.85 with "flim = 0.3": no regen, back t...

Re: Idle speed

I really hesitate to repeat the cruise control test... In any case, I cannot change the value of cruise control by CAN bus, because the goal is the current speed of the engine at the time DIN_Cruise switches to 1 (CANIO or input). I dynamically modify idlespeed by CAN bus for my tests : It's really ...

Re: Idle speed

Thank you for your information. I tried pot2 on a knob: the problem of speed control reduced downhill does not change at all. I tried the cruise via the CAN bus: I carried out the test at low speed. For some reason I don't know the engine has accelerated to the full... very surprising with a large d...

Re: Idle speed

Thanks for your reply.
I'll work again on this setting. Our problem is more to keep the engine brake below 500 Hz than to reduce braking at very low speeds.
However, this ability to reduce low-speed braking is necessary if the engine brake is important to avoid blocking the wheels.

Idle speed

Hello, We are working on a true all-terrain electric vehicle with a Tesla large drive unit and a complete Tesla battery. The result is very interesting and the performance really amazing. In road use we have no particular problems. In difficult terrain we use the "idlespeed" function in &q...

Re: CAN Communication Settings

Thank you. That's right. The negative value works well with -32.
This works for values written in the inverter (CAN RX). For the values read (CAN TX) I used a gain of 1 to get the value or 10 the value x10...
I have not tried with a gain of 32

CAN Communication Settings

I tried a lot to understand how the "gain" setting works in setting the exchanges on the CAN bus. TX messages don't pose too many difficulties but I can't understand the explanation in the WIKI: "Note the 1024x gain that shifts the bit into the correct position (5 fractions plus 5th d...

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread

Hi, I'm a new user. Tesla large drive unit with V3 board and software in version 4.57.R-sin. I encounter a surprising phenomenon: When I turn the motor manually the speed value varies surprisingly: By tracing the value on Plot it varies by steps of 41 (41 / 82 / 123 / 164 / ....) always with positiv...
