Re: Newb Asks: Is There No Current Shunt In The Leaf Contactor Box?

Actually the one you caught on camera has one in the upper left corner ;)
Laters gens have it on the service disconnect.

They are all hall effect, not shunts

Re: unstable Wi-Fi connection

It means the UART communication between ESP and STM32 has issues. E.g. bad connection, out of sync baud rate etc.

The latter can be improved by running the latest firmware that you find on github. I'm assuming ESP8266 https://github.com/jsphuebner/esp8266-web-interface

As always a meter in diode mode will tell you. If it displays 0.7V or so you have found reversed polarity. Or just connect your lab supply, see in which direction it shorts out.

Both conversions I worked on have skewed voltage readings with extended tap wires. Although one meter split in the middle has better chances

Johannes in Jämtland

Just thought I should make this public. I will travel to Sweden next week (18th of Jan) where I will spend 3 weeks. In the first week I will be busy, then I'm more free-roaming. Second week (about 26th to Feb 2nd) I will spend in Börtnan and the final week in Östersund. So if a few people come toget...

Re: Flying ADC 16 channel BMS 96S test

u1 if off because of the missing FET, but there also seems a broken PFET messing with the other values. When I fixed your modules previously I went over all FETs with a diode test mode. They should read 0.5V or so from Drain to Source. Any more or less means it is broken and needs replacement. It is...

Re: Flying ADC 16 channel BMS 96S test

Yes, these two.

When updating firmware via CAN the processor actively pulls low the control gates. But when updating over SWD they are configured as inputs and can float away.

Yes that was the plan but I never understood the system to that extend. I should do some CAN logs the next time I get a chance but the snow is already melting :(

Re: Flying ADC 16 channel BMS 96S test

Yes that is another mux failure. Did you have the battery connected while updating via SWD? Maybe some pins randomly toggled while flashing. I think I have to add pull-down resistors to the respective pins. Remove Q1 and Q5 and see what that does. If you then get readings from the other channels rep...

Re: DIY Traction Control

It's all CAN based. Wheel speeds come in via CAN and then throtmax/throtmin is modified (via CAN) to throttle regen or acceleration. The code I linked above calculates average axle speed from the two wheels speeds. A certain difference is allowed (in the test 3 kph during acceleration and 2 kph for ...

I've found a few more items of the EP2CCU and added them to the DBC file

Ultimately I'm going to have to hook up a proper battery and see if playing back the CAN Logs fires it up

What you see is done by cutting back throttle and yes that is done by the VCU: https://github.com/jsphuebner/stm32-car ... r.cpp#L416

It's only when one side spins faster than the other that ABS applies brakes.

Re: Flying ADC 16 channel BMS 96S test

On a pack of this size balancing might take too long. I'd guess there's like 5 Ah between the lowest and the highest cell. And the balancer is only connected to 1 cell at a time per module. So the 100 mA balancing current is effectively just 100/16=6 mA when all cells are balanced. That would be lik...

I think yes. It is likely though that you don't even need this, unless you want to control the precharge relay and other things with the inverter

Re: Setting up for syncofs FOC tune - advice sought

I just checked the code for 4.87.R and it disables PWM when setting manualid/iq to 0. So in this state you shouldn't hear inverter whine and there should be 0 current draw. You can do the tuning with the latest firmware also, only Manual Mode has been made redundant. You just give it the regular sta...
