Reverse-engineering Chevy Bolt BMS/ Charger/ DC-DC 14v

Post by TheLifeHacker »

I am building an EV with the above items and using them in conjunction with Chevy Bolt battery pack and Tesla drivetrain. Does anyone have a contact that can make the Bolt components work in this build?

What's your budget for this development?

See if you can use CAN MSG from Volt components?

Hi, I’m doing EV convention based on Tesla big drive unit and Chevy Bolt batteries. I have in my shop complete car Chevy bolt (damaged a little but I can make it run) if you need any support - let me know ;)))
I can scan and record can-bus signals or what ever you may need ;)

Also I have Chevy bolt wiring diagram

Speak to tom91 (Tom De bree). He can provide you with a virtually out of the box, cost effective solution for the Chevy kit.
Porsche 986 powered by a Tesla large drive unit. Backwards. Build documented here and Instagram @tesla_porsche here.

He has done the Chevy Volt, not Bolt.
Although it is worth checking if they reused the same CAN commands.

I believe with the Bolt and Volt gen 2 they went a step back, alot of the controls are pwm/analogue signals so you require a working vehicle to reverse engineer.

If anyone is based in the UK I could potential help out, at some form of compensation.
