I'm using 2 packs of 12kwh BMW battery modules in my Jimny build.
In my last build i secured each of the 12 modules to a board and screwed them down through the heatsink mounts in the end so they were supported along their entire length
In this build, i need to stack the modules 3 high, and I want to verify whether just supporting the batteries on those mounts is enough, or do they need support along their length on the underside. Naturally i don't want them to flex at all in transit over bumps etc.
As a side note, when i look at what I l have left of the original mounts, there is the tray (pic) and between that and the battery module was the heating/cooling insert, but this cooling tray was a very lite build and i'm pretty sure it bore no weight. When i put the module on the tray. there is an air gap, all of which suggest the battery modules are just fine supported via the 4 mounting holes in the end heat sinks.
I'd be interested to know peoples views of what they have done with these modules.
thanks
