so ever since I have converted by 84 VW Rabbit to electric using the 3rd Gen Prius transaxle I've been wondering and asking myself should I have used the Toyota Camry or the Nissan Altima one instead ? In this break out thread from the TOYOTA's Hybrid Synergy Drive System Cross Pollination one share how I talked myself out of it, but I wonder if you agree.
you can literally find these hybrid gearboxes laying on the ground

allow me to cut to the chase, I am not a front wheel drive type of guy, so I did not know this is what some transversely mounted gearboxes CV axles looked like, especially the 9' long passenger side one

and here it is compared to the much more symmetrical 2010 Toyota Prius, aka Gen 3
it's mind blowing that you can literally find these transaxles on the ground like so
do you see how both "Cups" ie CV axles just mate directly with the transaxle, absent the foot long extension thingie of the Camry

Re: Junkyard Report: 2008 Toyota Camry
did you see the mazda rx8 where i used the exact transaxle in it? i couldn't get the car past 60mph, gen three prius inverter and running dual motor control. unless you lock the sun gears your wasting the time. wished i had known that before i started the original conversion. i just installed a tesla motor in the car and was an instant satisfaction. 60-80mph in a instant. unless my transaxle was damaged, it had a ton of gear whin while driving. so i would look out for that. it is possible for mine because it was in a totaled car, body damage and front tires ripped off.
