This may be a stupid question so please correct me if I'm going down a rabbit hole.
I own a BYD Atto 3 with 7kw Type 2 connector for L2 charging. It also has a CCS2 connector for L3 DC fast charging.
Many public charge stations have 22kw Type 2 plugs (230v 32a 3 phase) so I'm curious if any portable EVSE products exist to convert a 22kw Type 2 to ~20kw CCS2 DC
The purpose is to increase the charge rate from 22kw type 2 public chargers by a factor of 3.
Is this product suitable? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009146065124.html
If not, is this a foolish idea or something that can be achieved?

Re: 22kw Type 2 to ~20kw CCS2 charger / converter
Hi and welcome to the forum. Technically, it is possible, to have a box with input 230V, 32A, 3 phase, and output CCS.
If the question is, whether a commercial product is available, I have no clear answer. The link above does not work for me (it says "Sorry, the page you requested can not be found:(". There have been some "announcements" from chinese manufacturers. One discussion (in German) is here: https://www.goingelectric.de/forum/view ... 05&t=96252 But do not know whether this really happened.

Thank you for the welcome! As I read the forum, I appreciate and wish I was as technically capable as many contributors. I have a background in consumer electronic radio, TV, VCR, audio and appliance servicing in the 80s and 90s so my electronics knowledge was vast back then, but much has been forgotten as I re-learn the modern EV environment.
Prior to my registration, I saw this forum thread
viewtopic.php?t=6447
Reviewing it again, I have come to realize the AliExpress link I shared is similar to, or the same unit as posted there - I have saved the AliExpress link to PDF and attached it.
I think I didn't write clearly in my first comment - I desire to maximize charge rates at public 22kw AC Type 2 chargers which are 3x 32a AC but my car is only 1x 32a (7kw), but has a CCS2 port with a max charge rate of 80kw.
I believe the unit I linked in the AliExpress link (and now attached as PDF) is an all-in-one unit ready for that purpose with an integral Type 2 socket. If I use a 3 phase L2 charge cable between the public Type 2 22kw EVSE and this device, I hope this device will output about 20kw of DC energy into a CCS2 connector and provide a 3x faster charge than if I plugged my BYD Atto 3 into the 22kw AC Type 2 plug. Am I on the right track? It appears to be a good price at about $1000AUD delivered (~ €550EUR)
The German thread you linked is interesting - I used Google translate so might have missed some context. Is the person trying for 40kw+ charging from Solar and Grid (3x 63a)? since he mentioned Growatt and Victron products? I'm only familiar with them for off-grid and solar to grid inverter products but I think most of that is beyond my knowledge and capability.
Thank you for your time reading and replying.

Re: 22kw Type 2 to ~20kw CCS2 charger / converter
Generally, yes. With some limitations:
- They listed 50A output current. At a battery voltage of 350V (~half full), this is P=U*I=17.5kW. At an empty battery (e.g. 320V) even lower. So you will never see the 20kW, because this would need 400V, and at 400V your battery is already full, I guess. But 15kW is better than the original 7kW on AC.
- Some people tend to say, that the chinese ratings are "best case short term" ratings. So if they announce 50A and 20kW, this would be no much surprise if in real life this is 25A and 10kW. I guess it makes sense so search for some real-world test reports of this unit.

Re: 22kw Type 2 to ~20kw CCS2 charger / converter
every aliexpress listing with low price is not true/scam, DC CCS2 charger cost me about 1700USD with slower sea shipping (which takes about 4months to EU) and I ordered direclty from factory, i heard aliexpress has even 30-40% fees/commision + for sure transaction will be tracked so this means additional VAT/customs fees
also I spent a lot of hours to speak with chinese salesman about this product - I exactly know what I want to order but you have to waste a lot of time with these conversarations
