Having been bitten by the Volvo bug and needing another FWD car for the MG drive unit testing.... Along came a 2003 Volvo V70 P2 diesel with a snapped timing belt and ...sparse service history. It had also been "converted" to commercial for motor tax avoidance and thus has no back seats. Sigh.
Anyway, will be getting started on it hopefully next spring. Am seriously considering sourcing a parts car either in the UK or Europe if one comes up at the right price.

Re: [WIP] The Vee70
Even though this project hasn't really started yet, I started to gather some CAN logs from my Volvo S60: https://github.com/damienmaguire/Volvo- ... 5244S2 M56
Perhaps someone wants to play around with it as well?
As far as I know, these are the first public logs of of HISPEED and LOSPEED CAN busses of a P2 Volvo (pre-facelift).

Re: [WIP] The Vee70
While working on the engine mounts for the MG drive unit in my V70 I, I also started working on mounts for the V70 II that Damien has:

The position of the V70 II engine mount is more favorable, so it's possible to use the original mounts without a relocating bracket (blue is the mounting location in the V70 II that I have to contruct a mount for): In the background you can see the angle different of the V70 I mount in the background compared to the V70 II mount: It is close, but at least on the Drive Unit side of thing it'll fit:
