I'm currently in the process of setting up a bidirectional CCS charger and would ultimately like to build a Beaglebone cape that performs the following functions:
- Talk to the QCA7005 chip via one of the embedded SPI ports
- Talk 2xRS485 via two of the embedded UARTs
- Talk plain serial TTL over another
- Talk 2xCAN via the two embedded CAN interfaces
- Generate +-12V 5% PWM or measure PWM via an integrated timer
- 2 fast PWM lowside drivers for miscellaneous purposes (e.g. for clocking a precharge transformer)
- 2 analog inputs for miscellaneous purposes
- 5V and GND for supplying the BeagleBone
So the outputs would be
- GND and CP
- 2x RS485 A/B
- 1x RX/TX
- 2x CANH/L
- 2x lowside
- 2x analog
- 5V and GND
So 18 pins. Bring them out on some common, inexpensive connector
I have attached a cape we did earlier just for reference of cape dimensions. If possible the cape should be the same size as the BeagleBone. But no sweat if needs to be bigger.
The QCA circuit can be copy&pasted from Foccci https://github.com/uhi22/foccci
If I have a go at it myself will update here. But am happy to offload it to anyone excited about this
