Currently I'm trying to decided which Motor + inverter / Stack I want to use for an upcoming conversion.
I have every HV component from a Gen1 Leaf and a separate Gen2 Stack with 6kW Charger.
I would like to compile a Pro / Con List for each motor (maybe extend to Gen3 later as I don't own one, maybe someone can help?).
GEN1:
Pro:
- easy to separate components as they are not stacked but wire connected
- technically the "better / stronger" motor if used with other inverter (read about 300+ HP)
- Zombieverter supported ( Inverter, Charger are supported, is the separate DCDC also supported?)
Con:
- HV components are a little heavier than gen2
- stock charger is weaker (but i would use gen2 charger or tesla anyway)
- no option to increase power (?)
GEN2:
Pro:
- Zombieverter supported
- compact design
- lighter
- 6KW charger
- power can be increased by inverter swap + OI replacement board (140kw)
Con:
- not that flexible in arrangement (well one could split the stack of course)
Did I forget something?

Pretty much, also gen3 inverter at 160kw I think is also supported by the ZV. Same setup as the gen2.

Hm... could you actually drive Gen1 motor with Gen2 or Gen3 inverter? I think resolvers are very similar.
That would really be something...

Didn't Dala do that? Put a 160 kW inverter in his Gen 1 car.

The car in the video has a stack, not a separate inverter. So Gen2 at least
