Picked up a 'dead' Vectrix with no battery and a blown motor / controller last week. Other than that it appears to be in excellent condition considering its age.
There's currently no fixed plan so I'm open to suggestion however putting more KWh into it with an OE inverter is high on my list of wants.
It's currently living in my corridor space
There is 1/2 a Merc C250 battery and leaf cell in the battery compartment to get a feel for things.
Both halves of the C250 pack will fit inside the frame and only require minor modification to the plastics and seat which wil give me 250V 6.3KWh in its original configuration.
The original control board has a burned PCB at one of the power connection points which I've heard is reasonably common. I've heard this can be repaired however the main power module is damaged.
Previous owner or someone was a bit heavy handed and ripped the IGBT module in half
However it looks purely mechanical damage to the pins so may be recoverable with a bit of cunning and a steady hand.
I'm also lead to believe all the communication is via a CAN bus but not sure how integrated all that is so any pointers will be great.
The plan is an option of either mending the main board and fitting a replacement 125V battery with Leaf cells or fitting the whole 350V C250 battery or similar and somehow getting it to integrate with an OE inverter and the original wiring harness via CAN stuff then just dialing the output power back a bit so I don't explode the motor. One main advantage of this is using a MG ZS 6Kw charger which will extend the useful range as a 6Kw charger on a 6Kwh battery is in rapid charging territory of a top-up charge being the time it takes to have a relaxed coffee and a comfort break.
Had anyone heard of putting an OE solution in a Vectrix

Replace with a good MC and install 20 Nissan Leaf modules and you have the best EV scooter on the market.
