Mini Mainboard vs Brain Board Rev 3

Post by im2slow »

Is the openinverter.org Mini Mainboard just ask good as the Brain Board Rev 3 - community edition(out of stock)? I will be running 800v system and trying to figure out if I need to order a board from a manufacture or if the mini will work? They are 200kw custom radial-axial motor.

800Vdc system for sub 1K€???!!! You must be joking.
Think about what the EV system entails... Motor, + Inverter + DCDC controler + Charger + Heater + AC compressor and maybe something more, like the battery....
That will get you back maybe 1K if you dont require a lot of power and use OEM components with some VCU control unit.

Well for 800V there is no used spare parts market yet... but price of new components are 4x and more...

With OI module board you have the option of building your own inverter for whatever voltage you need, but 800V requires at least 1200V components (safety factor) and a lot of EMI shilding...
Is that what you have in mind?
