Hello
I am very new to the Zombieinverter. I had high hopes of getting much further than I have before asking questions but I can't do much as I can't reliably connect to the device.
I got it ~6 months ago and powered it on to look at all the settings and learn a little about it. At that time I was able to check things. The web interface was very slow especially after I told it to connect to my local network wifi.
This weekend I tried to get it running with a Nissan leaf gen2, and leaf battery pack.
Again the interface was very slow but I did get access to things for a bit. I decided to try and tell the system to remove the connection to my local network. After that it seems to have got worse.
I read through some of the posts here and have only found some topics related to some IP address issues that don't seem to be my problem as I can connect.
One thing I tried was to flash a spare espp8266MOD D1 mini I had sitting around, via arduino. This was interesting as it kind of worked but wanted me to load new fw and configs. I got nervous at this point and went back to the esp that shipped with the unit.
While typing this I keep refershing the web interface page and watching to see if I got lucky. I did get a message of "Communication problem between ESP and STM" but the page was "ill" formed. I refreshed again and got the same error but the site looks correct.
It looks like I have firmware : null
web: v.2.0
I have downloaded the latest FW but not loaded it as this seems risky if it is having com errors. It looks like it is doing lots of refreshing which might be the problem maybe some loop is going crazy. Sometimes I can click on buttons like WIFI or params but sometimes I get no response and it times out.
I would appreciate some advice on how to fix this. Should I use the spare esp and reload FW? maybe try and reload STM FW?
Thanks
Aaron
Zombie VCU Web Interface hangs/slow?
Re: Zombie VCU Web Interface hangs/slow?
Thanks for the link I had not found that in my searching.
I will give that a try.

Re: Zombie VCU Web Interface hangs/slow?
Ok that was silly. I simply didn't read all the instructions on flashing the esp and forgot to load the web files.
My fresh flash of a new esp seems to be working.
Now I feel comfortable using it to update the zombie board with the latest FW.
I am not sure what happened to the old esp. I flashed it and reloaded files and it was still hanging.
One more item I did a full flash erase on the "bad" esp board. I used the python tool esptool which was in some code I use for esphome.
Then I flashed the "bad" esp again.
Now it seems to be working and I have a backup.
