Chinese V2L DC Inverter (CCS2/NACS) for Tesla

First video review of this unit i see from an actual customer, maker is Yi Dian Xiong from China (易電熊 for those who can understand chinese)

Interesting note, the car seems to think it is charging at a Supercharger, see 9:41 in the video. Wonder if this is a way they implemented to bypass the 15Ah discharge limit? (Tested by user lewurm)

I am not associated to the product linked above, just interested as this is the only V2L product on the market right now.

It is normal to see the car thinking it is being charged, as charging protocol is used to do the trick. For Tesla, the real show stopper is when the BMS_a076_SW_Dch_While_Charging alert is show up, the session will be stop.

During the time I experiment this with Tesla car, it seems random. Sometime the session can be several hours (around 2 kW) and sometime just a few minute even with no load. I don't think Tesla has design limit for this (but I might be wrong). As mentioned in the other thread, my observation is the car with NMC battery is more sensitive to this alert than LFP one.

As for the product you mentioned, judged from the form factor and the video demo, I don't think the manufacturer has done anything more than what most brave people in this forum has been done so far. So I still think the product is subjected to this deadly Tesla alert, but again I may be wrong. Hope someone or the company themself can confirm or deny this.

So far Ambibox GmbH is the closest thing, but they are focusing on bi-directional V2H wallbox. It is equipped with bi-directional charger that supply energy to compensate cell voltage dropping during the session to keep BMS happy, but this defeat its own purpose as we want to draw energy out.
BTW: Ambibox seem to be quiet about the progress on this Tesla bi-directional capabity lately.

Hi there,

Someone made a review and gave a lot of technical details about this device here: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads ... st-8578708

It seems they managed to bypass the famous 15Ah.
