I’m looking to buy a Leaf 62kWh battery. The only photo I’ve seen (eBay) of another one has a label that says it is 62kWh, which is what I’d expect.
The one I’m considering, the photo of the label says 60kWh. Anyone know why the difference?
In other respects the photos look like a Leaf battery. I will go and see it firsthand, but if it’s something to avoid, based on this, I’d appreciate the advice!
This is in the UK. The Smyrna name in the photo refers to a site in Tennessee, USA! So maybe the labelling schema was different? Wonder how this came to the UK, or are they all like this?
60 vs 62kWh Leaf battery label - anyone have any insight?

I found this thread in another forum which explains things a bit.

For what it’s worth, my leaf battery with a exterior label that says 60kWh, is kind of matched by LeafSpy which labels it 60kWh+
Money has changed hands after further negotiation based on cell 55. Hopefully I can find a way to balance that.
So will need to buy a cell balancer…

Dont need to buy any special cell balancer, a bench PSU will do the job.
Ofcourse the question is why that cell is low, it would usually indicate a problem with the cell, rather than it just having magically got tiself out of balance.

Thanks, I guess you're right about that. I'll try to work out the suspect cell when I get it back home to see if there's anything obviously physically wrong, then decide whether it can be replaced. Not that I see many 62kWh modules or cells out there. EVS Enhanced, New Zealand do advertise selling brand new modules, worst case. Think I got a good price, so maybe there's budget left
