Zombieverter, E65 vs E60
Re: Zombieverter, E65 vs E60
After I drive about 30kmh and hit the brakes, these error messages appear

Okay, so a few things possible and wierd others do not see these:
1. E18D possibly not waking up quick enough to send CAN, will review your log again to check where we wake. Hard to compare to your before engine removal, as you have no logs.
2.93C5 No idea if this means messages missing, can have a look online to see if there is more. Message ID 0x45 will look at this
3.5E60 You have brakes wired into zombie? As the Zombie mimic the DME reading the brakes and putting this onto CAN as the DME

No, I haven't connected the brake pedal signal to the zombie converter. Shouldn't it transmit it to the zombie converter via the vehicle's CAN?
Maybe I should also make a log while driving

Re: Zombieverter, E65 vs E60
No the brake is needed into the Zombie it does not take it from CAN. The DME in the BMW also reads the brake sensor and transmits it.
Driving log is good too.
Re: Zombieverter, E65 vs E60
I actually wanted to transfer states from the inverter to the zombieverter, but when I activate the inverter in the zombieverter, it automatically starts the inverter, which I didn't actually want, to start the inverter I installed a fingerprint,
the status of the brake is available on the inverter, this could be passed on to the zombieverter without laying cablesRe: Zombieverter, E65 vs E60
Today I drove 20 meters in the yard and then braked, the error came back, so I have to wire the brake signal again??
here is the log file

Do you have the brake, direction and throttle wired to the drive unit? Then yes.
Re: Zombieverter, E65 vs E60
yes, I wired it to the LDU, I tried to get the LDU to send the brake signal to the zombieverter via CAN, it works, but the same error still occurs

Re: Zombieverter, E65 vs E60
A graph showing it going high please. To ensure it reaches the Zombie.
Can simulate this on the bench to see if this works.

Re: Zombieverter, E65 vs E60
when I hold the brake, the signal in the zombie jumps back and forth, since we have the brake signal twice per CAN, it would be cool if you could use that and not lay more cables

Re: Zombieverter, E65 vs E60
Why do you have it twice per CAN? You do not you mapped it once. I will have a look in the code to review what is going on, it might always just be looking at the digital input.
Re: Zombieverter, E65 vs E60
the zombie has access to vehicle CAN and inverter CAN, both messages are available that could be used

I'll take that from there, until a can solution is realized, it will take some time

Re: Zombieverter, E65 vs E60
There will not be a CAN resolution I am not modifying the brake signal coding. Possibly CANIO might still be working in Zombie https://openinverter.org/wiki/CAN_commu ... deprecated
You need to map this in stead of DIN_Brake
Re: Zombieverter, E65 vs E60
Unfortunately I don't quite understand.
is that right??
can rx canio 415 2 6 1 on VCU
can tx canio 415 2 6 1 on Inverter

Re: Zombieverter, E65 vs E60
I do not know if canio can be sent, you might need to send the brake signal on the right bit to match the CANio

Re: Zombieverter, E65 vs E60
I'm sorry for answering so late, I haven't been able to do a test drive yet because the battery is empty, now I wanted to charge it and apparently the VCU is interfering with the charging, as soon as I unplug the VCU, it can be charged again without any problems, I installed the Tesla gen2 OBC.
I've added the parameters of the VCU and the charger, a CAN log is also included
In the Orion BMS2 is chademo aktivatet

Re: Zombieverter, E65 vs E60
Hey Guys,
Sorry for joining the party too late.
I'm Karim, and glad that you didn't compile my repo. it is about a whole year old and missing a lot of things.
Well Tom Did a good out figuring out what was wrong. Mainly wrong counters and missing messages from the old e65 code.
I did work those and added bunch of other e60 stuff slowly and the hard way and my code isn't online as some might say it is risky and dangerous.
I'm interested in your project Medo, if you have a build thread please do share it with me. want to see what other e60s running electric and what new stuff being done.
im gonna start my build thread soon. the car had been running a whole year now reliably but i dont have it documents any where other the couple of YouTube videos.
Cheers,
Karim
