Dream Job With GM, Inverter Electrical Design

Post by AdvancedEnergySys »

Greetings All!

This week I accepted an offer from GM for inverter electrical design and can't begin to thank everyone involved here enough for providing the resources to achieve my dream job. Damien and Johannes specifically though deserve a thanks all their own as we all know much of what we have wouldn't be possible without their combined efforts!

In that effort, I'll do all I can (within GM allowances) to provide info on any GM EV/hybrid systems new and old. I very strongly believe in the goals this forum represents and can only hope I provide the same resources that were provided to me.

Thanks again everyone!

Luke

Congrats. I never figured GM as designing anything for production, merely specifying functional modules to their suppliers. Should be interesting, nonetheless, to see OI's design wind up in a Chevy 😂

OEM's do a bit of both. Specs are published to suppliers and once a design is chosen we help to ensure the design standard throughout it's production. In recent days that means coming up with alternate chips in the event that one can't be found due to supply issues.

Which DC-DC are you working on? I'm helping an old auto salvage client, Nordstrom's Auto, with a couple chevy Bolts right now if that is any help?
