The library and demo code I sent Kevin, which he linked above, compiles, loads and works. I have 5 isa shunts in cars working with this now and the last time I had any formal software training we were using wire wrap boards!

#ifndef ISA2_h
What could that mean? hmmm....if ..not...defined.....ISA2_h...

#define ISA2_h
Define it as ...ISA2_h

Its a friggin trick question! in english it would read as "If my name is not Damien, Make my name Damien"
I'm going to need a hacksaw

Thanks JB, sorry for wasting your time there.

As Kevin say, the demo file loads up and runs fine on the VCU board. A quick look at the code shows that the “i” command through the serial monitor should initialise the shunt.

Is ISAScale_Test_dm2.ino for a Due board only?

I've got my Isabellenhütte working great with an Uno + cheap CanBUS shield. I will post details on the wiki.
I don't have a Due (yet).

I've added an article to the wiki with some code that pulls data out of an IVT-S over CAN bus using an Arduino Uno.
https://openinverter.org/wiki/Getting_s ... bus_shield

I'll add something similar for a Due when I have the necessary transceiver...

Here is a quick video on wiring the IVT-S shunt.

Part II will look at configuring the shunt using the Nissan Leaf VCU board.

This is great video, very informative and nicely done!
I already have it working with GS450h VCU but cannot wait to watch "Part II"

Here’s part 2 of the IVT-S configuration. My screen capture software didn’t like my video editing software so most of it is still frames.

Let me know if this has been useful and if you would like to see more tutorial videos.

I've only watched part of the last video, but knowing how much video editing effort alone...Bravo! Seems quite clear and easy to follow.

Thanks! I'll be referring back to this in a few weeks, I'm sure.

Brilliant videos! You make it look easy to crimp those fiddly connectors. ;)

Thanks guys :D Hope they’ll help.

No kidding about those crimp connectors. My trick is to hold the terminal and switch the ratchet around to use the wider side to get a good crimp on just the outermost part that bites into the insulation. That way you can get the exact length of exposed wire you need and complete the innermost crimp at your leisure. (Honestly though I only recently noticed the crimp dies are uni-directional and have a wider crimp head for the outermost part)

I just noticed that the ISA library on EV-TV contains an error. ISA.cpp specifies #include <ISA2.h>, but the file is actually named ISA.h:
http://media3.ev-tv.me/ISA.zip

This error has been corrected in the file hosted on this site:
download/file.php?id=3829

This might cause confusion for people.

Yes, I am confused!

The library from the EV-TV ISA.zip doesn't compile. The one from this site does.
There are multiple differences between the two libraries (although they look similar at first glance) - including the line in ISA.cpp that references either ISA2.h (EV-TV) or ISA.h (here)

Does anyone have a US source for the connectors for the shunt? Digikey and Mouser report 8-12 week lead times for those 4 pin connectors. I can get everything else immediately for like $6 :D

Probably quite a markup, but worth not waiting 2-3 months assuming there’s stock.

Yeah that's serious markup.

I tried a quick search on that site and failed. They have the retaining clip in the catalog (out of stock), but not the actual connector.

Theres plenty of stock out there on the 4 pin.

RS Components has a 10 piece MOQ, but theyre $0.14.

If you dont use octopart to search components, I suggest starting!

I just bought from RS Components (in the UK) and DigiKey - I think I got 5 sets for the price of 1 from that other place. Hopefully I was in time to cancel the order.

Edit: Yay, order cancelled.
