Re: VW electric coolant heater

I updated this yesterday, power is in % 0-100, any value above it shuts down. I updated the Wiki.

Re: 2024 Best battery: 100kg limit

What voltage range?
Is the weight including or excluding the housing and all other required components?

You are going to struggle to find anything really with these specs. Like really hard.

Have a look here: https://openinverter.org/wiki/Batteries

Re: Foccci wakeup/sleep discussions

I would prefer someone to confirm this who has actually tested it though. And I haven't heard of the other brands. Yes I have ran this a few times, it works. Most chargers will be like this too as the CP in the EV needs a diode, the -12V is for the station to make sure its not a rouge resistance on...

that makes it a pain, as it will be Panasonics take on how to do ISO-SPI/ISO-Whatever.

So not directly reusable without reverse engineering it from a signal level.

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller

Turns out you do need the Voltage Sense to work for the BMW I3 LIM to be happy to allow AC charging, it will however start AC charging with the unexpected voltage at charge port, if the HV U sense is at 0. Once you cycle the ignition it will test contactors.

Re: Zombieverter or Lexus GS450h VCU that is the question.

How is the test so far? Do we have regen success with the gs450? I am planning to do some testing next week with a build with GS450h. Other vehicles configurations are also being tested by Damien, he will create a release once all testing is done. Note the GS450h testing requires the removal of reg...

I do not have the time to get a ZombieVerter, as the project need to leave my shop next week. The Charge Port, Charge Lock and LED are all wired up. All info is in the zombieverter code, I am not going to list it out for you. Feels like you clearly messed up your planning and are trying to get othe...

Maybe getting some stick on temperature labels will be good for your testing :D It "logs" highest temps.

Question: What is the very minium requirements to achive functional CP, PP comminucation allowing for AC charging from the EVSE. Both in terms of wiring and additional components (lock, LED, voltage measurement etc.) but also if there are particular CAN messeges needed? Get a ZombieVerter and wire ...

muehlpower, thank you for all your work on this. Seeing the spec of the heater being upto 5/7kW. The LIN control message only has on byte for power level request, this means we can only request 2.5kW. Has anyone been able to get more out of the heater then the 2.5kW. Is it possible that Byte one con...

Please get details of the chip, better picture and markings on it.

Re: BMW GENERATION 5 packs (IX3 etc) - opening / reuse / reverse engineering

Like this pack?

viewtopic.php?t=4763

These packs do not use CAN internally but a protocol unique to the chips used int the BMS.

If you label and disconnect the CSC connectors and open it to take a better pictures of the PCB we can analyse it further.

Re: [WIP] BMW Z3

Slight issue with this is that the final XOR for making the command correct for the numbers above 6 wont be correct, but if Andy has gotten the modules reporting the info this is all good.

It is possible that balancing will not work, this has not been proven yet.

From those plots it is now hitting the 100kW limit as I set in the code. Will need to look at tweaking things more once your car is more sorted.

You check what speed the CAN is configured for and that you have configured it for the right bus?

Can the EVCC show you the raw CAN it recieves?

Re: Battery advice

Charge them all up, all the modules are under the "nominal voltage" so the differences will be quite large in voltage for a minimal difference in charge. Aging of the modules is why they could get like this, each has different stress. Key is that the modules are matched and do not have del...

Please just post the CAN log. No point squinting at grainy screen pictures.

Best would be to create a github repository.
