Re: ID.3 and other MEB battery packs in conversions
Just a heads up for anyone building with MEB modules-
The captive nuts on busbars are designed in a way that excessive torque may make it start turning inside of the module
.......
I would advise to use contact grease on these busbar connections, if you are afraid of the bolt coming out - a spring ...

Re: Outlander VCU - Rear inverter, Charger and BMS
Yes, that's right. When you connect the charging plug, the contact pulls the optocoupler LED to ground, the relay is triggered and turns on the power to the vcu and charger.
I tried to wire one side of the brake switch but i couldnt make it work 100% as the body vcu goes to sleep after some ...

Re: Outlander VCU - Rear inverter, Charger and BMS
When I press the brake, power is supplied to the VCU, and if I press the "Start" button while the brake is pressed, the relay to support the 12V power supply is turned on and the VCU goes into "READY" mode. If I press the "Start" button when the engine is not rotating, the VCU turns off the power ...

That makes it quite easy to modify.
For European situation where 3 phase is much better, but with the limitation of 7.2 or 7.4kW, it is probably best to add another 3.3/3.6kW charger on a second phase. So if the limit is 16 amps AC @ 230v but a second phase is detected, it could charge on two ...

To successfuly start the car and for every aux item in the car to work,, RPM signal is needed. In the case of 1.6 16V ICE engine this signal is picked up at the transmission flywheel. On the flywheel is toothed belt with 60 teeth pattern. This pattern is broken by two teeth missing at the RPM count ...

I made another small contribution to this VCUs code.

Front battery box mount
I will use multiple battery boxes. Each box will consist of 24S connected CALB cells. There will be 24S ZEVA BMS module in each. Also i will build in 10mm copper tube with alu plate to transfer heat/cold. This will be my thermal management for each box.

I have around 280 LGCHEM E66 modules available, very little use (<50 cycles).
These are Porsche Premium Platform modules (Taycan/Audi GT).
They are 6s2p configuration (NMC 712), around 2.8kWh per module.
€75/kWh
All details available on request.

I'm using the 450h inverter, using the sync serial comms. I do have regen, but it's not active at this low of RPM. I'm still experimenting with creep, but I'm not a fan of it, but maybe it'll help diagnose. It seems to not like low torque requests. If I set off a bit quicker its smoother.

As you say if that happen in your bench with only one BMS12 , but also with other different BMS12 alone, look that the problem can be with the EVMS brain or the display.

the total voltage shown in the screen is the summatory of all the cells calculated individually.
So, what I would try is to isolate which bms slave is provoking this flicking voltage reading. Mounting each cell block and testing when appear the flicking.
If I had to bet, I would say that it is ...
