I'm not talking DC-DC.
Donor electron vehicle is in V2L mode, sending AC out of the CCS port.
Thinking about it a little more, an EVSE would still be required to do the signalling, so the easiest way would be to just remove the normal power input plug off an EVSE and substitute it with a V2L CCS ...

Using V2L to charge another EV via CCS female-female cable?
Greetings,
I've seen videos where people use a V2L adapter from one EV, then plug a normal EVSE into that to transfer AC power from one EV to another.
Has anyone seen a wiring diagram for a straight CCS female to CCS female cable that enables V2L at one end and charges the other?

Yes yes yes. This advice should NOT be ignored.
You NEVER go anywhere near the live terminal of a start battery while the ground terminal is still connected to the vehicle.

Re: Is it ok to tow Tesla SDU on drive wheels?
If the car is switched on, and in drive, towing it is no different from rolling down a steep hill. You'll get regen unless you have someone sitting in the car matching the towing speed with the accelerator.
If it's switched off and in tow mode, I have no idea but guess it would not be a good idea ...

On a slight tangent, you can do firmware downloads via USB using Chromium/Chrome/Edge browser.

Re: GS450h Question: In "EV" mode, do the electric motors spin the engine? [SOLVED]
Pretty sure that in EV mode, MG1 spins in the opposite direction to MG2 but at an RPM where the engine input/output shaft is stationary, so 100% of the torque from MG1 is transferred to the ring gear and zero to the planetary carrier.
To do this the MG1 RPM is set to a certain percentage of the MG2 ...

I've done a bit more research. The motor is a HM34. Although 50kW isn't anything to write home about, the 270Nm max torque is a bonus.
I haven't found out the voltage of the battery pack yet, but it's Lithium Ion and appears to be fairly low voltage.

Yeah, I might as well try that.
If it fails, it fails and I move to the motor-only option. :^)

Re: Non-standard Leaf motor/trans orientation?
Hmmm.
I'm trying to make this a very easy conversion so that people with low engineering skills can copy it. Having to arrange oil pump/feed piping puts it higher up the skill set.
Given that this tractor will have a 30km/h speed limit when driven on the road, and is very unlikely to exceed that ...

Well, I managed to get the MG2 splined tube off by cutting through the welds on the lathe. Quite a mission.
I decided that since I'm welding the thing up anyway, the best way to make sure the tube is centred correctly would be to lay two welds down on the ICE shaft. Rough as guts welding here, but ...

If the mg1 driveshaft and ICE shaft are place back where they're supposed to be, they appear to be concentric, so my plan was to tack weld in-situ. While doing this I held the welders earth cable up against the flange - to limit the current flow to the immediate location, so I didn't ...

Planetary mod to split MG1 and MG2 for dual power output
In the Toyota hybrid trans, MG1 and MG2 are permanently connected via a planetary gearset mounted in between them.
If you have an app where you want to use MG1 and MG2 for different tasks (eg MG2 for driving wheels and MG1 for a PTO output on a tractor) you have to decouple them.
In an ideal world ...

I'm working on exactly this right now, but for a small tractor (TYM353HST) with MG1 driving the PTO and MG2 the wheels.
I'm half way through modifying the planetary gear that connects MG1 to the ICE shaft and MG2.
First, you have to cut most the planetary carrier off the unit (which disconnects ...

P510 transmission dimension request
Does anyone have a P510 trans handy?
I'd like to know the distance between the axes of the differential output and the input shaft from the ICE.
In the P410, for instance, this is about 200mm and I'd like to know if the P510 is different (and hopefully smaller!)
Thanks!
