Hey Herb,
I agree that it is probably 'too hard' to remanufacture the Ravigneaux cast section due to the complexities in the casting (oil galleries etc).
I am not giving up on remanufacturing the output shaft just yet. In the photo you linked from the OSTI documentation it isnt clear whether the ...

Re: Connecting a GS450H to an existing Transfer Case?
Hey Herb,
Thanks for posting your WIP build thread - what a great project this will be once its finished & thanks for the measurements.
I can see from your measurements we don't have a lot of shaft to play with.... But like my wife keeps reassuring me, its not about size - its how you use it ...

Re: Connecting a GS450H to an existing Transfer Case?
Too Funny Herb,
After your post I went digging on the ih8mud forums and came to similar conclusions.
In the end I decided the transfers from an HDJ80, FZJ-80, FZJ-100 and FZJ105, HDJ-100 appear to have the bigger 19 spline and should (could) be suitable for use with the L110f, but as you say ...

Greg,
I thoroughly enjoyed the video, you have a way of making these topics accessible to us common folk. I have my fingers crossed that you do a tear down video of the gen 4 inverter.
Thanks Peter

Re: Connecting a GS450H to an existing Transfer Case?
Just curious how far you got down this road?
I finally unearthed my HF1A case and introduced it to my L110f.

You wouldn't happen to have DXF's for an adapter plate would you?
Hi Herb
Thanks for the video. Unfortunately, I am still a few months behind you so I can't help with a dxf file ...

Re: I just bought a 4th Gen Lexus GS450h Powertrain. - Now What?
Hey Greg,
Thanks for your efforts and videos on this topic.
I have a running 2013 GS 450H, I would happy to assist with CAN logs etc to help work out the protocol to these inverters (once I figure out how to do can logging).
It is RHD, so the CAN logs may need to be read backwards or possibly ...

Re: Using the Lexus GS450h V6 and EV transmission
Ozzie Ozzie Ozzie!
I think its a cool idea. There is a fairly detailed analysis of MG2's continuous rating in the L110f transmission report (see page 78 of the link below).

You might be able to extrapolate that data to get an idea on a combined ...

Re: Connecting a GS450H to an existing Transfer Case?
Hi guys,
An earlier post on this topic mentioned that the L110f transmission may bolt to an earlier model land cruiser transfer case.
They may be referring to the HF2A commonly found in Landcruiser 100/105 series which appears to have the same spline count on the input shaft as the transfer on the ...

Re: Connecting a GS450H to an existing Transfer Case?
Hey Robert,
I have seen that report, but it doesn't quite capture the detail I was hoping for.
Its also nice to hear from someone who has had both apart.
I ended up pulling the trigger on an L110f from another (dodgier) supplier and also have a complete GS450h on the way. (My wife is so happy ...

Attached are my photos of the internals of the L110 / GS450h transmission tail housing (circa Jan 2021 - I didn't think to post them or check this thread at the time, sorry).
Thank you for this post. It is really helpful.

Re: Fitting one-way clutch to GS450h input shaft
Hey Miyuki,
Thanks for starting such a great conversation. It took me down the rabbit hole for sure! (I have similar PHEV related interests).
What I discovered was that under normal operation, the THS (Toyota Hybrid System) in a normal hybrid (non PHEV) rotates MG1 backward in certain ...

Re: Fitting one-way clutch to GS450h input shaft
Hi Miyuki,
I am interested to know what you are wanting to achieve by fitting a one way clutch vs fixing the input shaft as others have done?
Is it so you can keep the ICE and gain the ability to drive both elec motors in an EV only mode?
Thanks

Re: Offering application support
I see a lot of posts with people having basic electronic component issues, it would be great to have the option to pay a little more for a board that was built and tested before it was shipped to avoid those sorts of headaches... maybe there is and I just need to look harder...
