Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit (LDU) Motor Teardown and maintenance

Yes, it's been considered. Over on the TeslaMotors forum.

QCC's coolant delete manifold is supposedly equipped such that you could circulate eg ATF instead of a water-based coolant. AFAIK, nobody's reported actually doing that.

Meanwhile, dozens or hundreds of the SS formed cap plugs have been ...

Re: Crazy LDU and SDU ideas, help needed

So slavery via logic board?

I purchased the TC2 controller and for all wheel drive set ups, The controller sends the same CAN wires to the rear LDU and front DU inverters.

Why can’t those can messages and Power be sent to 2 front Drive units? I have attached the wiring diagram. Thanks!

Has anyone considered using oil as a coolant? It won't be as good as coolant, but probably better than a dry rotor. Thoughts?

Re: Tesla Gen2 Charger Compatibility and Ebay WARNING

Just pulled the charger from a crashed tesla, and it’s a Gen 2 with the TPN: 1014963-06-A. Car was running until March 2024.

The open inverter wiki pages doesn’t address The 06-As. Should I roll the dice and try Damien’s board?

Hoping to get an update on your project. I’m thinking about running two LDUs as well and wanted to see how it went for you.

I was also curious, can you take two FWD SDUs and have them both run as slaves via a splitter?

Thanks!

Got em in. Should we refill the void in the "camel snot" left from pulling out the old sensors? The new sensors seem pretty secure as is.

Re: Tesla Small Drive Unit Support Thread

Just busted my current sensor :( and if you can't tell from my question then I'll say it explicitly. I'm a noob.

My replacement current sensors will be getting here in a couple of days. Do I just pull out the old sensors from the "goo" and drop the new ones in? or is there something more involved ...
