Re: Fast Charge Mercedes-Benz bclass electric (B250e)
Wacky. Glad that somehow an accidental drive-off isn't possible anyway. I haven't gotten time to get back to this project yet. The car is too busy being a daily driver to return to project car status, in combo with a since acquired '22 IONIQ 5. But it does have excellent new tires that are not run-f...

Ahh, the last little piece falls into place... . That's excellent, thank you.asavage wrote: ↑Wed Mar 08, 2023 5:24 pm
Of note, I've identified the "drive inhibit" pin on the OBC.

Re: Fast Charge Mercedes-Benz bclass electric (B250e)
Sorry for the delay in response. Traveling when this came in. This is a fantastic summary and answers that fundamental question I couldn't wrap my head around. > we can either work with the existing system (ie let Tesla's hardware and software control the contactors, battery conditioning, fans, etc....

Ok, this gets me closer (and a fun blog to read and return to). Thanks!

Re: Fast Charge Mercedes-Benz bclass electric (B250e)
Without going full zombieverter, can one add CHAdeMO to any EV?
It’s true I won’t be able to read CHAdeMO specific messages from the BMS. I don’t know what I don’t know: how standardized are state of charge related BMS messages otherwise?

Re: Fast Charge Mercedes-Benz bclass electric (B250e)
The car finally came home with a shiny new (refurbished motor of someone else's heartache core charge really...) LDU. New enough even that it needed a new controller board and looks a bit different to the old one, although I don't have great pictures of the old one, so I'm not too certain about that...

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit (LDU) Motor Teardown and maintenance
Probably any new version of MB or Rav4 EV LDU are just Tesla's latest LDU revision #s. MB/Rav4 EV volume is much smaller than Model S so likely they will track LDU rev slower. Makes sense. With a few thousand MBs (and I think a similar number Toyotas) in North America, that's not a lot of incentive...

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit (LDU) Motor Teardown and maintenance
I have confirmed that Mercedes-Benz is using a newer configuration of the Tesla LDUs in their replacements for 2017 and earlier B250e. This is the part: https://web.archive.org/web/20221205200956/https://mbparts.mbusa.com/oem-parts/mercedes-benz-remanufactured-electric-drive-242340420184 And here is...

Re: Project demystification - make openinverter.org more accessible
I am a total newbie here and discovered the forum maybe a week ago, and finally discovered the wiki a few days ago (maybe independently of the structural change? I'm not sure). I run a technical forum elsewhere on the web with some friends, colleagues, and collaborators, so it has been fun to do a d...

Fast Charge Mercedes-Benz bclass electric (B250e)
As you may see in another post, I am one of the many victims of the inevitable decline of a Tesla Large Drive Unit. In my case, as you may have surmised from this topic subject, said LDU is in a 2017 Mercedes-Benz B250e. I am fortunate enough to have had a good after-market warranty, and the car may...

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit (LDU) Motor Teardown and maintenance
Hi All, this is quite the thread and breakdown on the LDU. I'm recent 2017 MB bclass owner (b250e), and would you know it: it failed in the way one might predict, 3 or so weeks into owning it. Fortunately, while the seller isn't my favorite car vendor these days, they did provide an extended warrant...
