Please save some money first then and after that buy one from Damien.
Or if someone sells you something cheaper, please donate the price difference to Damien (as much as possible) over time. The amount of value you get with the firmware he is offering open source is €€€.

Re: Regen on a full battery ?

The BMS should send a maximum allowed current IN.
This can be either for charge or regen.
Them it is up to the charge controller or VCU to make this happen. So then “automatically” (almost) full battery = (almost) no regen.

Hey guys, anyone here who has already tested and used their new sensor IVT 3.0? https://www.isabellenhuetteusa.com/product/ivt-3-0-series/ They are at B2 Sample stage. Not end user configurable yet like the normal IVT and already much more expensive. I’m awaiting of the final product release and th...

Ok, I see. Well, then I'll just donate it. I've not followed everything in detail. But from what I've heard you did a lot of work for an Opensource CCS solution. So I'm happy to contribute to that by donating the unit including shipping. Can you send me an e-mail (lars (at) evcreate (dot) nl) with y...

I once ordered a similar unit. After opening it I decided to go another route and develop the Voltage Sense Board.
This is what it looked like:

Re: Chademo Controller Development

There is no command for that and it is the station that locks the plug.
So I’d try to power cycle your controller and try to start a new charging session and end that the normal way.

Are there any OEM MSD's with known rating of 400A?
Or are you looking for a used HBD41 or its successor the HVBD4 or something from TE or Amphenol someone might have laying around?

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller

Everything is fine with the wiring too because there are no problems with AC charging. I've seen this with other CCS implementations as well. The fact that AC charging works can still mean CCS does not. It can even vary from charger to charger. Is your CP line nice and short? Thinking out loud: wou...

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller

The 646 is ticked as 'tested'.
In theory it is possible yours is faulty, but I expect it is something else. For example:
- Wiring issues
- Control logic issues
- Non original charge port

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller

CCS DC charging relies on power line communication (so data packages via the CP and PE lines). Since you are getting an invalid signal it looks like this digital communication is not working properly. Therefore Tom suggested to check your wiring.

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller

You are not getting a valid Charging_Type in 0x3B4, Byte 6 and thus it hangs/remains in Initlialisation.

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller

I'd say in that example SOC = 24,6%
Byte 4 = 0xF6 = 11110110
Byte 5 = 0x70 = 01110000
Then take all bits from Byte 4 and four most right bits from Byte 5 in front of it.
So you get binary 000011110110 = 246 scale 0,1 = 24,6%

Updated CAN structure? Or also updated hardware design (ao in the KLE but also voltage ratings of (charging)connectors.

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller

The higher voltages however, due to the way the DC fast charge bus sensing works feels like this will be the hurdle. The measuring range of the Voltage sense board is determined by two factors: 1) the supply voltage 2) the input range of the current sensing basic isolated amplifier Factor one shoul...
